Chinese Communist Party Funding Academic Think Tanks

China has vested interest in American policy making. Shocker. According to a Congressional commission to examine the matter, their influence is broad and deepening. From the Free Beacon, the Chinese infiltration of America’s elite research institutions is well documented, stating that:

The report said the Johns Hopkins School of Advance International Studies, a major foreign policy education and analysis institute, has received funding from Tung Chee-hwa, a vice chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, the party group that directs the United Front Work Department and includes a member of the Politburo Standing Committee, the collective dictatorship that rules China.

Their reach is not limited to simple funding; they’ve been recruiting actively through any means possible. The article goes on to say:

Chinese intelligence agents also work with the United Front Work Department to recruit students who are then called on to curtail universities’ discussion of China.

China targets students through 142 Chinese Students and Scholars Associations (CSSA) in the United States.

The associations “routinely coordinate with the Chinese government and … have been involved in the suppression of free speech and the harassment, intimidation, and surveillance of Chinese student activists,” the report said, noting “Chinese intelligence officers posted in diplomatic facilities are the primary point of contact for CSSA members.”

United Front operations also are active in the Confucius Institutes—Chinese government-funded centers that are used for influence and intelligence activities.

Confucius Institutes are located on hundreds of American campuses and are used to “advance Beijing’s preferred narrative and subvert important academic principles such as institutional autonomy and academic freedom.”

As anyone who’s walked around any campus recently knows, the fruit is ripe for the picking. There’s no shortage for useful idiots on both sides of the lectern to act as a diversion for the real objectives. And our own political correctness has allowed prevention of calling out the obvious, such as the Chinese billionaire who outright stole research from Duke University. And considering the longstanding partnership the Chicoms have had with the Democrat party, its not surprising when you an entire generation of Federal bureaucracy viewing the Chinese model as one for the future of the United States. At least the Democrats are honest about it. Former Speaker of the House John Boehner, among many notable others, has been spending his retirement time on the Chinese dime:

as a strategic adviser to clients in the U.S. and abroad, and will focus on global business development.” Boehner helped lead the effort to grant China most favored trading nation status in the late 1990s.

And they’re only getting started. Good thing there’s no 75kw station to relay communications to the action cells. They are just getting warmed up and the Chinese sphere of influence is quite strong in South and Central America, with the left wing candidates who were ousted in the 80s and 90s returning to power along with new populist faces. Venezuela is just one example of the shift in hegemony and its a sign of much bigger things to come.

If you’re not training there’s no time like the present. It’s going to matter.

    NC SCOUT,

I have been railing against this country sleeping with the ChiComs for nearly 20 years. As you remarked in your essay of then Speaker Boehner advocating for the Red Chinese with Most Favored Nation status in the late 90s, Boehner would get his wish. In May 2000, the Republican-controlled 106th CON-gress gave ChiCom advocates Bill Clinton and John Boehner the coffin which to bury fUSA in…..PNTR, Permanent Normal Trade Relations with the Communist Chinese. PNTR which would give the ChiComs and the treasonous, Amerikan corporations who, subsequent to PNTR, closed domestic factories, laid off millions of workers and moved operations to the Red Chinese mainland. Why ? Simply because PNTR eliminated most, if not all, tariff on goods exported from Red China and imported info this country. That and the cut-rate ChiCom slave labor rate couldn’t be beat.

Today, fUSA has a four TRILLION dollar trade deficit with the Commie Chinese. It should be no epiphany to recognize that our politicians, both Republican and Democrat, along with every presidential administration since Richard Nixon (minus the current Patriot and POTUS), has been sleeping with the Chicoms selling out our sovereignty and independence to them. Literally, traitors all.

Yes, DAN III, traitors all. But, we have cheap goods, iPhones, Smart Phones, Tablets, and other electronic pacifiers to keep the Sheeple and the Normies preoccupied with the FEDGOV bread and circuses Ferris Wheel. There are very few real, aware, citizens in the FSSA who get it. The Chinamen have called the tune, but Amerika will pay the piper.

      • NC Scout August 26, 2018 at 12:29

On the flip side you also have inexpensive equipment to be used as enablers at the small group / guerrilla column level.

        It’s all about perspective.

        • DAN III August 26, 2018 at 15:47

          NC Scout,

          Here’s the flip-side to your flip-side….

….if our elected and appointed political scoundrels had not shuttered 10s of thousands of factories, eliminated several million manufacturing jobs and several million more jobs supporting those manufacturing jobs which not only paid family sustaining, middle class wages, but maintained American sovereignty….neither you nor any other Patriot would be advocating, let alone thinking about the necessity for, having and equipping a domestic, “small group/guerrilla column level” organization(s).

Today in fUSA, wages have been stagnant in the private sector for 12-15 years. Consequently, more and more fUSA citizens have turned to government at any and all levels to secure employment with living wages and benefits, along with annual pay raises. Something unheard of in the bulk of private sector employment. In turn, more than 52% of all-working age Americans work in/for some level of government ! How long will THAT be sustainable through the taxation of the productive ?

Given the percentage of Amerikans feeding at the .gov trough, how many do you think would be supportive of guerrilla activity by the Deplorables, against their bread & butter ?

I certainly hope your remark was that of devil’s advocate.

          • NC Scout August 26, 2018 at 16:16

No, my remark is of someone who’s doing something more productive than lament.

      • DAN III August 26, 2018 at 15:51

        Mr. Weasel,

“….but Amerika will pay the piper.” Cannot agree with you more.

BTW….it is good to see you commenting. Glad to know you’re still kickin”. Hope all is well with you and yours. Take care.

Thank you, sir. Still kickin’, still preppin’ and still trying to reach the younglings in my A/O. Bleib ubrig.

I’ll bet that the Chinese think tanks are still better than those supported by American foundations, Israelis, and the Chamber of Commerce.

    • NC Scout August 26, 2018 at 14:32

The plans for all of the above come from General Dynamics.

Was it here or on WRSA that linked an article about Chinese buying up radio frequencies/equipment on the west coast too?

    • NC Scout August 26, 2018 at 14:33

Its a radio station just south of the border.

    NC Scout:

I’ve been saying this for a long time. As someone who is into computer security and electronics as a hobby, I’ve noticed a spike in Chinese hackers coming to the forefront in western universities researching things that otherwise they wouldn’t have access to back home. I see a lot of their research being around espionage and potential attacks on various dual civilian/military use things such as GPS spoofing, password cracking and all sorts of other things you can’t imagine.

For a solid precis on China and their history in the 20th century and their potential outlook I highly recommend Dragon Days: Time for “Unconventional” Tactic by H. John Poole, it was an enlightening read for sure.

Thank you for sharing this, reading with interest.
