Good Friday

Today is Good Friday, or the day of remembrance of the Lord’s crucifixion and death upon the Cross.

On this day, as I’ve done all my life, I spend it to the betterment of others. Its a day of service in honor of sacrifice, and this year its important to remember that there’s a lot of suffering going aorund. An act of goodwill towards your neighbors will go a long way.

It is good for man to remember His sacrifice.

Thanks for all you do here. Many citizens become aware through yours and the others that post here.

It’s got to be Gods intent, keep it up as long as you hear the Holy Spirit driving you on.

Amen! On Good Friday, fasting and prayer is also a great way to offer up your suffering to the Lord on behalf of others. The hunger helps to remind us to pray for those we can’t help physically and you can give the food, or money you’d use to buy the food, to the poor.

Christians have the privilege of uniting our suffering to the greatest sacrifice ever made.

“Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I complete what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the Church.”
    Colossians 1:24

“Sufferings gladly borne for others convert more people than sermons.”
    – St. Thérèse of Lisieux

And of course, my favorite whenever I’m tempted to complain…

“Whenever anything disagreeable or displeasing happens to you, remember Christ crucified and be silent.”
    – St. John of the Cross
