FLASH: 7 Russian Navy Captains Killed In Sub Incident

According to the exchange in an emergency meeting between Vladimir Putin and Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, seven Russian Navy Captains are among the dead after an incident involving the Losharik (AC-12), a nuclear powered deep sea research and special operations submarine.

The exchange as reported by The Kremlin:

President of Russia Vladimir Putin: Mr Shoigu, go ahead please.

Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu: Mr President,

As we reported to you yesterday, a fire occurred aboard a deep-water research submersible in the Northern Fleet, which was carrying out seabed research in Russian territorial waters in the Barents Sea. Fourteen crew members died of smoke inhalation.

The crew extinguished the fire through their decisive action. At present, the deep water submersible is at the Severomorsk Navy Base. It is being inspected to establish the cause of the accident. A commission headed by Navy Admiral Yevmenov has been appointed to investigate this tragedy.

Vladimir Putin: Mr Shoigu, this is an unusual vessel. We both know that this is a research vessel with a highly professional crew. From your preliminary reports, of the 14 killed, seven were captains and two were Heroes of Russia. This is a huge loss for the fleet and the military in general.

I would like to convey my most sincere condolences to the families of the dead. We must do everything we can to provide assistance and support for them.

I would like to ask you to leave for Severomorsk to personally review the reports and make sure the commission reveals the cause of this tragedy by any means necessary. Please report to me personally on this issue upon your return.

Sergei Shoigu: Yes, sir.

The incident is possibly the cause for Vice President Pence’s abrupt and unexplained cancelling of a campaign rally in New Hampshire and immediate recall to Washington.

Having that many high value targets in one location is either incredibly stupid or incredibly smart, depending upon the goal. Since we know the Russians are definitely not the former, it is curious as to why that number of experienced Naval Officers would be in one spot. Or why a conversation between the Defense Minister and President would be published.

It is important to note the Chinese have publicly acknowledged the testing of the JL-3 Missile, capable of being launched while submerged from the Type 096 submarine. This a capability only the US previously had and represents a new threat to the US mainland. We have no way of knowing if those Captains have been recovered, or what the sub was doing prior to the ‘incident’. But again, that many experienced naval officers on a vessel of that type is highly unusual.

Coupled with the Cloudfare outage earlier today (and continued, sporadic major outages), its a constant reminder that the world is an unstable place. Train accordingly.

A Russian sub being unsafe is hardly news but 7 captains and a conversation press release???

me thinks the death of 7 Russian captains (was 2 “heroes of Russia” part of the seven? Or part of 14?) is certainly a political incident! Dare i speculate this may have been a “red October” incident? Were these 7 *submarine* captains? Alas, i probably shall never possess more than 20% of *THAT* puzzle!

AT&T, CenturyLink and some banking sites are reporting issues as well. Yesterday there was a major reported outage along with other suspicious incidents, including an abrupt cancelling of Vice President Pence’s scheduled appearance in NH along with a reported emergency meeting a the Kremlin. Would love to see more coverage on this story- it’s been largely buried even in alt press.
We know that both Putin and Pence cancelled important public appearances when the incident was reported. We know that there was (and continues to be) widespread global connectivity issues. A congressman from FL says the sub was likely tapping into undersea cables. Seen reports that this sub was capable of carrying a high yield cobalt encased nuke bomb. Is it possible a catastrophic event was accidentally avoided? Does anyone really believe that the madmen running these secret programs (on all sides) are any more competent or stable than your neighbor? History doesn’t.

I’ve got a few thoughts on it, but I’m letting one of two things happen- either it gets buried (apparently the case) or disinformation ensues (has also happened to a far lesser extent). Its proposed in a few outlets that the sub was ‘cutting internet cables’, and while those types of missions are in most subs’ repertoire, I doubt this was the case. Far too many senior officers and that mission would have hurt no one but Russia. It is also highly unlikely that this sub was carrying any type of ballistic missile- it didn’t have the size to be a launch platform. And if any other nation had attacked it, including the US, that news absolutely would get leaked.

But what we do know is that many senior officers absolutely have dossiers maintained on them by western intelligence agencies- and that this many, up and disappearing, would raise too many red flags. So, they had to ‘die’, confirmed by an unusually open exchange. The question now is where they actually went.

My wild guess theory: One of their “Intercontinental Doomsday Torpedoes” with a huge multi-megaton cobalt alloy “salted” casing for extremely persistent, heavy, and nasty Gamma Ray emitting fallout that is tied to their “Dead Hand System” autonomous strategic weapons retaliation launch system had a rather unfortunate OOPSKIE malfunction and was about to launch or launched in error. That’s the only thing that I can think of that would freak out the Kremlin and the Whitehouse other than an attempted nuclear coup by sub captains. The coup angle could have also been a political purge. The Russians have ample historical precedence for that type of thing too. Cutting an Internet cable isn’t a world shattering event unless you are an angsty 13 year old who melts down if Instagram is inaccessible.
