Independence Day. The day The founders of our nation told the king of England that we had a higher standard for our national identity than what his monarchy provided. The day that a declaration of our independence from England was read to the, soon to be, Citizens of this land mass known as the United States of America. A declaration that espoused what all of mankind was entitled to by it’s Creator in the form of rights due to mankind’s very existence.
All men are created equal: Although true that all men start out equal, some excel in life and their endeavors. Some are content with status quo. Finally, some are miserable failures because they can’t get out of their lazy, socially entitled, mindset of mental victimhood.
Life: You have the Right to exist and survive through your own efforts. No person or government has the right to end your existence without clear proof that you violated Malum In Se law. Any government that tries to inhibit your ability to own and use effective and efficient means that aid in that survival is in the same “sinking boat” the King of England was a couple centuries ago.
Liberty; The freedom to do what you want, when you want, without fear of a person or government entity telling you that you are prohibited from it is a primary directive in the Declaration of Independence. The caveat is that it cannot interfere with another individual’s freedom or property, without their consent, in the process.
Pursuit of Happiness: What gives your life meaning and makes you happy? As long as those activities don’t interfere with another person’s freedom, liberty and property, it is supposed to be OK.
You cannot read the Declaration of Independence shown below without realizing the Founding Fathers believed in a Creator (Nature’s God) and that the Creator expected and encouraged human beings to be responsible for their own actions in all things. When you believe there is an expectation of certain responsibilities from a Higher Power, not of this earth, it changes your perspective greatly. The “Ends justify the means” and “Eat, drink and be merry because nothing matters” goes out the window if you have that belief.
Although our Nation has made many mistakes, it is still the freest and most opportunity-centric nation on earth. If you believe that it needs overthrown, my question is, “By whom and what are you replacing it with?”. “By whom”: What country will your support come from? Go ahead, tell me a nation that has the capability requirements and will support that endeavor, but then give you the freedom you desire after the act is complete. Doesn’t exist.
“What are you replacing it with?”: I’ve heard from many people that have trained with MDT or interacted with me, through MDT, concerning “Revolution this” and “Civil War that”. The dark humor I find in saying, “Then what?” to those guys is probably greater than it should be. They have no plan. Their end goal is “NoGov” with all the issues that includes. It’s a “Squad Assault” after you’ve reach the “Limit of Advance” (LOA), without acting on the follow on requirements “post assault”.
When I mention that not only would their fantasy (It’s a fantasy because they neither have the ability to carry it out, nor the will to follow it through) taking place opens a pandora’s box of invasions by other nations bent of having what we’ve built and possess. It would create a plethora of unintended consequences that would decimate the population of our nation through disease and starvation, just to mention a few issues.
Best case in that scenario is an organized secession and balkanization of this country with all regions keeping a decisive ability to defend themselves. THAT, unfortunately, is a pipe dream. The only way those balkanized American regions would survive is if the chaos that initiated our situation here was due to a world wide cataclysm which would obviously vie for the attention of every nation’s leadership, and point it inwardly.
Answers? I don’t necessarily have an answer for what YOU should do, I can only tell you what I am doing.
- Find the positive things that make this the greatest nation on earth, AND APPRECIATE THEM AND THOSE THAT HAVE SACRIFICED TO EARN THEM. All the while, remembering our history, both good and bad. It is prerequisite to forging a good, positive future.
- Find the positive things in your life and identifying things you’d like to change to make it more productive and enjoyable.
- Don’t let the fearmongers put your life on hold because…..APOCALYPSE! I can show you videos and articles from TV I watched as a child and magazines I read as a teenager (still have them) that said things were “Ending in the 80’s”, “Ending in the 90’s” and “Ending in 2000”. They were complete BS.
- PREPARE. Prepare for general survival concerns, as this can cover you if you lose your job. Prepare for specific survival concerns you’ve researched and believe could happen. Learn as much as you can about survival under different circumstances.
- Speak out about what you think is wrong in our Nation, and don’t let some vocal minority keep you from voicing your opinion. If you want to have a say in what the government does, either become the elected official you’d like to see, or just continue to participate in the voting process. If you don’t vote, you have no realistic standing to criticize those who get elected by the ones that did.
Below I’ve posted what was written so many centuries ago. Are we to that point again? In some aspects, yes. Do I think it’s enough to do what they did? No. As much as I have a problem with a number of the firearms laws and other legal and regulatory nightmares that exist on the books. I don’t believe it’s time for a fight. Of course, that doesn’t mean I’m not ready for one if it is thrust upon us.
The rampant socialist and communist influence in this country, and the overt presence of it in Congress and government positions can’t be denied. Will the day come when the “Kill a Commie for Mommy” T-shirt I owned and wore as a teenager will come true for me in this country? I pray to God “No”! Will I take up arms in defense of our Nation from a communist takeover? YES! I planned on fighting communists when I joined the military in 1988 anyway, but I never planned on it being here (unless “Red Dawn” because…..”RED DAWN”!).

He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.
He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.
He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.
He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their Public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.
He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.
He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause others to be elected, whereby the Legislative Powers, incapable of Annihilation, have returned to the People at large for their exercise; the State remaining in the mean time exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within.
He has endeavoured to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new Appropriations of Lands.
He has obstructed the Administration of Justice by refusing his Assent to Laws for establishing Judiciary Powers.
He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.
He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people and eat out their substance.
He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures.
He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil Power.
He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:

For protecting them, by a mock Trial from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States:

For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences:
For abolishing the free System of English Laws in a neighbouring Province, establishing therein an Arbitrary government, and enlarging its Boundaries so as to render it at once an example and fit instrument for introducing the same absolute rule into these Colonies
For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments:
For suspending our own Legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever.
He has abdicated Government here, by declaring us out of his Protection and waging War against us.
He has plundered our seas, ravaged our coasts, burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people.
He is at this time transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to compleat the works of death, desolation, and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of Cruelty & Perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the Head of a civilized nation.
He has constrained our fellow Citizens taken Captive on the high Seas to bear Arms against their Country, to become the executioners of their friends and Brethren, or to fall themselves by their Hands.
He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.
In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.
Nor have We been wanting in attentions to our British brethren. We have warned them from time to time of attempts by their legislature to extend an unwarrantable jurisdiction over us. We have reminded them of the circumstances of our emigration and settlement here. We have appealed to their native justice and magnanimity, and we have conjured them by the ties of our common kindred to disavow these usurpations, which would inevitably interrupt our connections and correspondence. They too have been deaf to the voice of justice and of consanguinity. We must, therefore, acquiesce in the necessity, which denounces our Separation, and hold them, as we hold the rest of mankind, Enemies in War, in Peace Friends.
We, therefore, the Representatives of the united States of America, in General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the Name, and by Authority of the good People of these Colonies, solemnly publish and declare, That these united Colonies are, and of Right ought to be Free and Independent States, that they are Absolved from all Allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political connection between them and the State of Great Britain, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as Free and Independent States, they have full Power to levy War, conclude Peace, contract Alliances, establish Commerce, and to do all other Acts and Things which Independent States may of right do. — And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.
Enjoy the day. Appreciate what it took to earn the freedoms we have and what the men who signed the above document put on the line for us. Prepare for a better tomorrow by teaching our youth what it means to be an American using our history.
