Hydra – Greek Mythology or Today’s Democrat Party

We can see the Impeachment Show is winding down and the GOP House of Representative members are severing the head daily of the newest drama du jour. What are the next two heads that will emerge from the Democrats Hydra monster I wonder?

The Britannica Encyclopedia describes Hydra as…

Hydra, also called the Lernean Hydra, in Greek legend, the offspring of Typhon and Echidna (according to the early Greek poet Hesiod’s Theogony), a gigantic water-snake-like monster with nine heads (the number varies), one of which was immortal. The monster’s haunt was the marshes of Lerna, near Árgos, from which he periodically emerged to harry the people and livestock of Lerna. Anyone who attempted to behead the Hydra found that as soon as one head was cut off, two more heads would emerge from the fresh wound.

Being retired, I have been monitoring the Impeachment Show between cutting, splitting and stacking firewood. What I have seen is there is no “there, there” and Chairman Schiff nor his cohorts have laid one punch on President Trump. I am sure that House Speaker Pelosi has seen this too and is currently plotting behind the scenes to get out of this show with as little collateral damage as possible.

I am predicting that Pelosi will either allow the vote to impeach move forward and work behind the scenes to defeat the vote or she will benevolently announce, for the “health of the nation” there is no “there, there” and “we must move on”. Then she will move quickly to vote on and pass the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA). Once passed send that over to the Senate which they will pass too. Then both parties in Congress can go home for the holidays pointing to something that they accomplished.

Pelosi really has no choice. She is being button-holed by her fellow Democrats behind the scenes from both Houses of Congress. First by the newly 2018 elected to the House 30-plus Democrats, in Trump won congregational districts and states. They see the Impeachment Show as just that – A “nothing burger”. Then we have the Democrat Senators who are running for the 2020 Presidential brass ring.

If impeachment happens the indictment goes to the Senate for a trial. This means that Senator Warren, Senator Sanders, Senator Harris, Senator Klobuchar, Senator Booker, and Senator Bennet, will not be out on the campaign trail during the trial. I am sure they are pressing Pelosi to jettison the impeachment narrative. To not do this, Representative Gabbard, Mayor Buttigieg, former Vice President Biden, and other lesser players will benefit greatly.

Our country then has the up and coming drama from the DOJ Inspector General Horowitz concerning FISA abuse by the Obama White house and deep state actors from the Department of Justice. This report will be out anytime certainly before December 11, 2019 when he will appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

The icing on the cake will be when U.S. Attorney Durham’s investigation, complete with indictments; will arrive just in time for the beginning of the Presidential campaign season. What a fun next 12-months or so.

What will the Democrat Hydra monster become? Will it be…Trump has neurological issues? Trump only sleeps with a night light on? Mr. Giuliani is the one running the White House and it was he who forced a quid pro quo situation with Ukraine? The next hydra speculation goes on and on but I can assure you it will never end.

Oh the possibilities are endless however we all know they are coming along with others we can not even dream up. Let’s leave that to the Democrat Hydra monster.

Last, just think, we have 12-months of this Democrat Hydra monster growing new heads as quickly as Trump and the GOP lop them off. Maybe the American people will say “enough” and do something other than sitting in their Lazy Boy each night sipping beer watching Sean Hanity & Tucker Carlson and thinking, “this ain’t right”. Hopefully, we are moving closer to Matt Bracken’s tale, What I saw At The Coup.
