I would hate to be a truckdriver (or a cop) right now. Some truckers have refused to deliver into the urban hot spots, and who can blame them? If enough of them refused, the lack of supply to these war zones would present a strategic challenge for the revolution.

If a trucker gets ambushed by a mob of rioters, he will either suffer Reginald Denny’s fate (or worse), or be railroaded on a murder rap. Some choice. I would put the hammer down to clear the kill zone and inadvertently issue some Darwin Awards along the way and either hope to get a really slick lawyer and favorable jury, or hole up and Alamo when the police came for me. The only sane choice is to just avoid certain cities and areas.

      Machine Trooper

I often daydream while driving long distances and think of what I would do if caught up in a riot on the road while driving.

Something did happen once to MrsMac and I down in Miami after the Haiti Boat Lift. As we approach a on ramp to I-95 a bunch of boat people came out from under the I-95 overpass and swarmed the car in front of us and then started towards us. I told MrsMac to hang on and drove onto the shoulder around the swarmed car in front of us with boat people jumping out of my way. I may have hit someone (s) as I heard a few thumps or they just may have been folks kicking or beating on my car as I drove through them and on up the ramp to the highway. I never looked back.

I cannot afford a slick lawyer so in my case it will be the Alamo.

Point to consider on vehicle safety. If you have window tint film on your windows, and your window shatters, or is penetrated. They won’t be able to see in, but you won’t be able to see out, either.
