Radio Contra Episode 23

Radio Contra Episode 23: NC Scout gives his take on the war being brought to your front door, the McCluskey incident and the real ambush they walked into, and finally, why using tracking and locator apps in a non-permissive environment is idiotic at best, along with anyone who advocates it.

Always great to fire up AP and see there’s a new RC episode! Keep up the great work! It’s gut check time in the face of evil for the good people in this country again and I personally appreciate the wisdom and encouragement you take the time to share!

Looking at gunwarehouse.com; can you make a few recommendations for metal ar-15 30rd mags? steel or aluminum?

    • NC Scout July 16, 2020 at 13:37

Honestly which ever one is cheaper. Steel AR mags may be more durable in the long run, but I’ve had feeding issues with them in the past (HK factory mags in an issued Colt M4). Aluminum GI mags have always served me well as long as they’ve got a no-tilt follower.

Warpig, I agree with Scout go with aluminum. My Colt came with steel 20-rounders and they did have some negative affect on my handheld compass.

As a side note, way off your question, I do like the 20-round mags my Colt came with. I use them when sighting in a rifle off the bench as they do not interfere with the bench as the 30-round ones do at times.

      Thanks for reading and commenting.

I’d agree to what Badlands mentioned! Always good to catch another episode. Never under estimate the value that each podcasts commentary and observations convey to us deplorable rubes! Doing the Fathers work NC, keep it up!!

      Thanks brother!

    Two questions:
So I got that the McCloskeys fucked up but what should they have done? One could argue that the presented a “show of force” that prevented the rioters from advancing further into their home. As you stated the rioters wanted such a confrontation and it is possible they would continue to escalate until they got it. Which is better, showing a gun on the front lawn or having to use it in the kitchen?

Would a Faraday case, such as those made by Tarriss prevent one’s cell phone from being tracked?

    • NC Scout July 17, 2020 at 15:10

Don’t present a weapon you don’t intend to use. If they thought a weapon was warranted, they should have engaged the threat. Period.

On the phone- if I’m out doing business as a team, I don’t have one.

    • johnyMac July 17, 2020 at 19:31

      John,

The McCloskey’s screwed the pooch in two ways.

      1) You never banish or show a weapon unless you are willing to pull the trigger.
      2) Why leave your defensive position to banish a weapon in public. Anybody could have taken them out. Stupid!

If I feel I need to draw a weapon or lay a red dot on a two legged threat, they are going down. Period! Remember, MO. is a Castle Doctrine state. One foot trying to enter their house would justify four or so pounds on the trigger and a call to a hazmat team to clean up.

      God Bless Brother

The Radio Contra episodes just keep getting better. Cell phones are more dangerous than many people realize. You can use a VPN, add blockers, etc. but the advertising ID’s embedded in every iPhone and Android device will be sent for tracking even if you turn it off in settings. You never know what all is included in the pushed updates. The Libre 5 phone is the only one I know of that provides reasonable security. It runs linux and the cell modem, bluetooth, and wifi chips are isolated from the main CPU and can be shut down.and the battery can be removed. Of course, then all you have is a small tablet.

Faraday bags/cases work, but they also throw up a big signal in The Current Year plus whatever that you are up to shenanigans.

I think they have their place, but it’s better to leave them at home or a friend’s, or a bar or movie theater for a few hours, if you catch my drift.

Thanks Scout! Listened to all 23, read some and got some xtra shows in like the recent interview with M. Adam’s a few weeks ago. That was a keeper and shared it with some of my crew.
Stuck out here in SoCal for time being and wondering if you might ever do a class around here.
I think Bracken is local here & both y’all would be real helpful for the us out here with the same perspectives.
God Bless Bro and thanks again for sharing all this info & reminders?.

    • NC Scout July 21, 2020 at 06:53

That’s for listening! Unfortunately no, I have no plans for a class in SoCal.
