I’ve got what I consider enough ammo. But like firewood, get as much as you think you need, then get 10 times more. Another quandary I feel I need to shoot more now than ever, but I begrudge every shot.

I know that in my area you can still get 9mm, 5.56, .45. 7.62, .380 at pawn shops but it has a steep price.

As to trading any of it right now, I could double or triple my money on what I have but November quickly approaches.

Same here. I’ve got many times more than what I can carry, but cringe at how much I’ve used just to adjust my zero with a new stock.

Bracken always has an astute prospective and even when he’s ‘preaching to the choir’ (me being the choir…), I still listen.

Although he has a better head of hair than I do, we’re the same age and have similar backgrounds (his being Navy, mine being Army) I would add, avoid any bait operations / protest / rally’s, etc. (even those you feel very strongly about.). Let the enemy come to you and use your tactics to surround them and then deprive them of ‘life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness’. PERIOD!

One thing I’ve retained from 24 years in the Army and what Bracken has spoken of several times here (along with other great and experienced authors at AP) is to ‘Never underestimate your enemy regardless of their size, equipment or appearance.” It only takes one of their lucky bullets to ruin your day!

As the saying goes… “You may find me dead in a ditch defending my freedom, but there’ll be many bodies and I’ll be knee deep in brass!”

Now I think I’ll go down and trade this piece of paper for a box of 500 $1 dollar bills….

I don’t know when or where kinetics will take off in a big way. But prepping for a bumpy road ahead is only a prudent thing to do.
And after listening to Matt Bracken discuss bait/sniper traps, it becomes all the more obvious, the importance of discerning the difference between being reactive or proactive.
Case lots of ammo aren’t available locally at the moment (or foreseeable future). So buying piecemeal has been the workaround. Even if it’s only a daily three-box limit per customer per day. Simply do what you can.

Too everybody complaining about the price of ammo the past few months….imagine a couple years down the road when you are kicking yourself, saying, “I could have bought thousands of more rounds back in 2020, and now my entire bank account won’t buy a single bullet.”

@Matt Bracken – exactly. This is like people bitching that they missed the first 10x on Microsoft in the late ’80s. Um… you still could have gone 20x your money in the next few years.

Buy it now. The price ain’t maxed out by a mile, and the dollar is only getting worse.

    Good article.
