Another Take On Alternative Commo, by Romeo Nine

This is a response to observations made and submitted regarding communications used by AntiFa militants. Keep in mind- all of these are phone based, and all of these apps make money both by selling your data and having backdoor monitoring capabilities. So while it might seem like they’re being super sneaky by using video games like minecraft to communicate, there’s always a weakness when using infrastructure you don’t have control over. Just saying. -NCS

Your correspondent makes a good guess, but there’s no method of text communication in Pokemon GO, and no method of sharing contact info. If you have pre-arranged code, you could probably arrange signals, but no actual English. You’d still need to communicate outside the app.

It’s not Chinese, either. The developer Niantic is an American company and Pokemon is largely a Japanese property.

Anyway, your guy is on the right track, but he’s probably just seeing nerds in this case.

Meant to leave this in a related thread yesterday, but this one will do.

These knuckleheads are using simple but effective combinations of digital and analog means of communication and C2 while conducting operations. I would hazard a guess that the training and infrastructure for this has been outsourced or imported. Regardless, it’s been effective and will continue to evolve. As previously noted, if you venture into the dragon’s cave, have a plan and be prepared to get bitten.

I cannot attest to the veracity or accuracy of this link, but it’s food for thought if nothing else.

Discord is a real time communication program that gamers use on computers and phones and I have seen a couple of reports that antifags have been using it. It has a variety of programmed frequencies so if you don’t know which frequency they are using is can be difficult to find it. No built in encryption but if they were to use code words they could mitigate some of that. I don’t think that we are supposed to be able to listen in on cell phone frequencies although I believe it is possible with older equipment. The authorities of course possess that capability already.
Thus they can use their cell phone/tracking device with ear buds and have fairly secure communication between themselves.
The recent report about how three vets got followed, intercepted and attacked in the streets indicates real time communication. While the towers are up the cells are more reliable than radio inside a city. Less static and background noise.

Discord is also 100% compromised as a communications platform for us, i.e. “somehow” antifa always gets access to Discord servers used by right-leaning people, or really any of their designated enemies (because I don’t want to get into a “what is left? What is right?” discussion). If someone invites you to use Discord for coordination, planning, comms, etc. please pass on it, let them know why and, if they continue to insist, call them out. Many such cases can be found online!

Exactly what Karl Dahl said. They’re infamous for their terms of service where they reserve the right to read anything they want on their platform. They’ve de-platformed “alt right” groups and support BLM (https://support.discord.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360069100712-BLM-Banner).

“Furthermore, Discord’s trust and safety team does have the ability to read private messages and messages sent in private servers when investigating user reports.”

If you’re invited to Discord I’d be extremely suspicious of who invited you. If you know them and know they’re truly ignorant inform them, else they’re likely compromised or complicit.

I concur with both of you. I feel that the patriot community is going the correct route with exploring secure communications via UHF/VHF. Once the towers go down the Afags will not be able to use the platform or other similar ones. Plus, I don’t know about you but I try to not carry my tracking device as much as possible.
But if they are using this platform there has to be a way that we can comprise it to our advantage.

DMR with the standard “encryptions” (Privacy settings technically, because encrypted radio transmissions are illegal in the US) is probably being used off site. With in person comms and basic brevity codes on the ground.
    They could use proton mail.

A friend of mine told me that it takes A LOT of resources to crack DMR. Resources that are not unlimited, and can only be so effective. Mostly because they need to be right on top of the enemy regardless. Or right inside of them.

Didn’t the Chinese say they were locking the Feds out of Apple? Did Apple support BLM?
Why is it so hard to believe they are just using standard comms like a cell phone and email?

    • SemperFido September 8, 2020 at 17:21

Occam’s Razor. They already have the phones and discord is free and reliable as well as reasonably secure. They undoubtedly have more elaborate communications for the upper cadre. Stingray towers tell the cops who’s phone was there but not what was said. Jammers are a great idea! It would be interesting to use one near them and see if their communications are affected.

  4. Jackalope in TN September 8, 2020 at 12:53

I would imagine that Law Enforcement is going to start jamming cellphone signals in due course. It would remove the opposition’s communications and control in a localized area. Or they could be using a stingray tower to gather data. And Antifa is surely using burner phones too. There are so many levels to this battle.

    • Chimp September 9, 2020 at 06:28

Why do you think cops are going to do that? I don’t think the urban law enforcement is on our side – certainly not the upper admins

Something worth looking into is Keybase. It’s an open source encrypted chat app (the company claims that not even they themselves can read your messages) that has some neat features like encrypted file sharing/storage. It also has an exploding message feature that destroys your messages after a pre-determined period of time.

  6. The Ypsilanti Kid September 9, 2020 at 10:52

I wrote a message recommending Keybase as a commo option. It has come to my attention that Keybase was recently acquired by Zoom, who in turn, has connections with China. So I take back that recommendation on the basis of prior mishandling of user privacy by Zoom and the potential for the chicoms to get access to the encryption keys.
