Another Take On AntiFa’s Street-Level Comms

This was sent in by a reader out there collecting the S2 at the ground level. The use of video games as a means of clandestine messaging is nothing new, but easily circumvented. -NCS

Hello sir. I came across an article that you shared regarding Antifa s field organization, etc.

I wanted to share some weird happenings that I observed.

I tried the FBI tip-line but hung up……. so I thought I would find someone who was already in the mix and give them my quick observations…..in the spirit of: ( If you see something…Say something.)

Long story short: Has anyone looked in to the POKE MON app…… as a way for them to join groups and sync themselves to like minded comrades regardless of their geographical origin?

Observations: I live across the street from a synagogue and sit on my porch often. About 3 years ago I witnessed cars showing up quickly and parking in a certain area of the lot…..in about a 25 ft by 25 foot area……of the 100 yard lot.

(No church was in service.) as it was a weekday 4-6 p.m. These millennials would get out of their cars (at least 30 cars if not more) and go form a gathering on the sidewalk by a fence. I witnessed seemingly one guy talking to everyone….and I saw them talking and using their phones in hand…..not at their ears.

They would stay for about 3-5 minutes then they would all drive off as fast as they came scattering in all directions of the two entrance/exits.

This happened 3-4 times every few months after that. It was so odd I took a picture one time……but I chalked it up to the (Poke Mon dragon) that is in the game…in the lot. I know the people at the other church and they too were aware of the game / dragon in their lot.

Then as the next 3 events happened…..these cars would NOT park. They would drive in to the area and do 100 foot circles around the middle of the lot following each other as others would drive in ……and circle…then others would leave.

This happened fluidly and quickly…..again lasting only 3-5 minutes or so. I FILMED IT ONE DAY…….just to show my wife.

THEN:

These EVENTS stopped happening in 2019….that I noticed.

SO:

Does the POKE MON app have a sync function that allows one to join a private-group within the app I wonder.

I am 52yrs old and have ZERO knowledge of the game.

SUMMATION:

It is a Chinese app I believe

If the app allows for location services and PRIVATE groups…. these people could sync up themselves with like minded comrades locally……. and move about the country and be able to join an event without having to be contacted formally. They could go from Dallas to Portland and still have info as to where, when, to attend a disruption…..making them universally available in any State they may be in….not just locked down as the Dallas chapter only….etc.

They may have codes for events and locations within the app private-group communications??

Most of the people that I saw were young 18-30 ish. (and I agree that is the target age for the game so I get that)

The Parking Lot Events probably went from 2018-2019. It was limited…which tells me they got organized and had a good baseline of contacts…..to spread with other future recruits in my area. (if it was just for the game…why did they just stop)

I wonder if anyone across the country had any of the same observations in their area. It was like a large caravan of scavenger hunters….but I am wondering if Antifa are exploiting the game to use as tactical comms.

This is just a THEORY. If I had the power, tools, and contacts to investigate….I truly would.

Thank you for your time.

R.A.M.

The Pokemon game is based off another called Ingress. Ingress was actually a fun game for about 3 days, but then you realize you’re an adult playing a game… The gist of Ingress was that monuments, places of worship, government offices, and other noteworthy locations were nodes where the good guys and bad guys secretly battled for influence over the population within an area around them. Sounds like real life, eh? Ingress got fairly popular, and I had the app on my phone for months after I was done playing it to investigate how well developed it was. While driving in some fairly major cities and even out to extremely rural areas, and there was always one of these control points nearby. Basically the idea was you hacked these influential sites’ hidden computers and set up defenses, traps, etc and could link them together to form a broader network of influence. Now, in that game I’m not aware of any private group messaging, but there was definitely an ability to send messages to players within a geographic distance from your location. Since Pokemon was built on the same platform as Ingress, I suspect you could very well be right that there is group messaging in the app. Whether anyone is using that app to message or not remains to be seen. If I’m ever near a large protest, I might download the app and see how many “players” are nearby. We have seen evidence in the past that terrorists were using messaging apps over old Playstations to communicate in an obscure manner, so it wouldn’t surprise me.

I’m in a similiar age group (north or 50) .. and have zero experience with the game.

Gonna check that out now .. because it’s more uncommon to not have a smart phone than it is to have one with you at all times.

    Things to think about.

I think my last comment got lost in the ether somewhere.
Long story short: The dating apps and instagram have the most people on their platforms, but don’t have the same police administrative loopholes. Even though Instagram is owned by Facebook, and the dating apps are owned by one of those mega App companies.

My two cents. It’s not always some wild card. It’s probably the damn apps they wander around on their phones with 24/7. That would provide the maximum expose, and cast the largest net.

What would preclude using a walkie-talkie type app to communicate among such folks? With even minimal encryption it would appear to be difficult to intercept in real time. Considering the likelihood of non-members using their phones during the alleged “mostly peaceful demonstrations” people of that age seem utterly tied to their phones), finding/intercepting communications between C&C and soldiers would seem to be nigh onto impossible in real time. Unless some agency were capturing ALL mobile phone activity in a given area during the demonstration for later analysis, such a scheme would seem to be relatively secure in real time. Add in use of burner phones for officers (soldiers’ app would be receive only) and you’d have a network which would be difficult to penetrate. It seems to me that the only phones which might be traceable to individuals would be those belonging to foot soldiers who are expendable in any case. Why complicate things with SDR dongles and such when you could achieve a usable level of secure C3 by means of apps and burner phones? Also, why destroy the phone when software can irrecoverably erase the device’s memory in seconds if not a fraction of a second? Wipe all digital traces of officer activity from their phone and there is no prosecutable evidence since even the app would be erased. The only suspicious evidence would be the officer’s possession of a phone not in his/her name. Any good leftist prosecutor or judge would exclude such evidence in a New York nanosecond.

Of course OUR could do this, too.

I understand where you are coming from Old Codger. A couple of things…
      1) If you watch the folks involved in the assassination you will notice that all communication was being done through preconceived ques. A cough here, a hand signal there. A flash light over there. A gunning of an engine there. Etc. Wrong, right, or indifferent. It was a well run operation.
      2) Burner phones really do not work anymore other than for a one and done op lasting in short duration.
      3) Analog comms are easy to scan and listen to. That is why a simple Brevity code would work well. BUT, analog is easy to RDF.
      4) DMR would be good for on air comms in the digital setting. Something like the the inexpensive BaoFeng DM 1701.

To be honest though, #1 from above is the best for a close in op.

      73 & God Bless
