ARMED CITIZENS MUST DEFEND THEIR COMMUNITIES FROM RIOTING MOBS IF THE POLITICIZED POLICE WILL NOT

In societies living under the Rule of Law, sworn Law Enforcement (LE) officers have always been considered fully justified in applying lethal force against violent mobs during arson riots, such as those which have been occurring with regularity in American cities during the terrible summer of 2020. This was the intent and meaning of police officials publicly “Reading the Riot Act,” announcing over a loudspeaker that a violent mob had been declared to be an unlawful assembly, that is to say, a riot. Rioters who lingered on the street after that final warning could be engaged by LE at any level up to and including the use of deadly force, with no further announcement.

This was, in prior more civilized times, a basic understanding of all citizens living under the Rule of Law. This is why a police officer’s standard-issue pump shotgun was traditionally referred to as a “riot gun” long before the development of modern less-than-lethal munitions. This is also why arson riots were uncommon and short-lived. Everyone understood the ground rules. There was no right to burn, loot or murder.

Thomas Sowell put it this way: “If you are not prepared to use force to defend civilization, then be prepared to accept barbarism.” Note that he did not say “the government” or “the police department.” He said YOU.

ABR, my own acronym for the current working coalition of Antifa, BLM and the Revolutionary Communist Party of the U.S.,  are now routinely using Molotov cocktails (gasoline bombs) and other incendiary/explosive devices as offensive weapons in both an anti-personnel and anti-property (arson) role. As far as the BATFE is concerned, a Molotov cocktail is an illegal explosive device, and so are powerful high-altitude fireworks, when they are deployed at ground level as anti-personnel and anti-property explosive/incendiary grenades.

ABR deliberately uses the anonymity of their black-clad and face-masked mobs to conceal the identity of their individual bomb throwers, in exactly the same way that 19th Century Ku Klux Klan night riders carrying torches on arson missions concealed their identities with white robes and hoods. There is no moral or ethical requirement for either police or ordinary citizens protecting their communities from violent mobs to identify and ferret out the individual bomb throwers, when the rest of the mob is intentionally surrounding them in order to shield them from that identification. Because of the deliberately created synergy of bomb throwers utilizing the anonymity of the mob, the entire ABR mob becomes a legitimate target for police arrest or armed community self-defense.

Furthermore, at this writing in September of 2020, there is no moral or ethical requirement for a law-abiding American citizen to wait for a lit Molotov cocktail or any other incendiary or explosive device to crash through the window of their home or business, while ABR mobs are rampaging through the streets conducting arson attacks. Once the fires begin, morally and ethically, the same Rules for the Use of Force (RUF) should apply that would attach to a lynch mob, or to Ku Klux Klan night riders on their way to burn homes or businesses. Both KKK night riders bearing torches in olden times, and violent mobs of ABR terrorists with Molotov cocktails and other incendiary devices today, can and should be engaged by armed citizens with any necessary level of force required to halt their terroristic depredations.

In numerous recent cases, law enforcement under Leftist political control has repeatedly abdicated its traditional and expected role in breaking up violent riots and preventing arson and other terror attacks. Week by week, the level of ABR violence has been steadily escalating, and it’s logical to assume that it will only worsen as the hotly-contested presidential election draws near.

So let me be very clear: if Democrat Party governors, mayors and DAs have hamstrung their police for political reasons, and won’t allow them to protect the lives and property of their local citizens using all required force, abandoning their primary mission in order to bow to the ABR mob, then it is time for their undefended citizens to apply the clear intent of the Second Amendment. There should be deep regret about the abandonment of the Rule of Law by the Democrat Party political ruling class, but there should be no moral quibbles or hesitation by American citizens concerning the legitimacy of armed community self defense, in the absence of expected law enforcement protection.

Therefore, it is my carefully considered opinion that black-clad and masked ABR mobs, rampaging and terrorizing innocent citizens under the cover of darkness in the style of the KKK of old, may morally and ethically be taken under preemptive fire by armed citizens at any level necessary to drive them out of their peaceful neighborhoods and away from their businesses, before the terrorists can reach their targets and throw their Molotov cocktails and other explosive and incendiary devices.

As an historical note, it should be understood that the National Rifle Association was founded after the last American Civil War by former Union Army officers, (and Republicans at that), in order to empower freed African-American former slaves to defend themselves with firearms against KKK night raids. In the 19th Century, the Democrat Party, then allied with the Klan, (as the Democrats of today are aligned with Antifa and BLM), had favored strict gun control, in the form of narrowly written laws restricting the legal ownership of firearms by free black citizens.

The more things change…the more they stay the same.

A well-regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed.”

If Antifa, BLM and the Revolutionary Communist Party continue to act like rabid dogs, the time will come that society will treat them as such. And what does society do with rabid dog? It puts them down.

I figure that being a white, middle aged, middle classed male I will be hung out to dry by the legal system whether I shoot one or sixty. I might as well go big and do some good for my country.

    • James September 10, 2020 at 18:52

Ohio, the first will cost you perhaps your monies/freedom/even life. That said, after that, they are all free!

    • Tionico September 11, 2020 at 13:31

Ohio John, even if you shoot NONE ou may well have the same consequences come upon you. These lawless thugs take inaction to be an invitation. It is rapidly devolving to “them or me” status.

To quote John Parker, Captain of the Lexington Militia, spoken as the day was dawning over the COmmons at Lexington in April of 1775, “Don’t fire unless fired upon. We DON”T want a war, but if they mean to have one, let it begin here”.

In the present case, the lethal activities of the ABR gangs are the mroal and practical equivalent to being fired upon.

Bravo. It’s not just about our “rights” any more, it’s about our “obligation” as citizens and patriots to maintain the rule of law under the Constitution when government is unwilling, or unable to do so. Militia shouldn’t be a dirty word. We let the Bush’s and Clinton make it so, and synonymous with terrorist. The time has come for “MMGA” It’s time to: “Make Militias Great Again.” It’s time to stop worrying about how the MSM, Social Media, or the government will portray us if we form local militas, because they’re going to vilify patriots, constitutionalists, Christians, conservatives, Republicans, Trump supporters and any and all white males – no matter what they do. I would love to see a movement whereby local militas align themselves, formally, or inflormally with local law enforcement. Law enforcement needs to open channels to this, as they stand to gain the most here, knowing the local law-abiding citizenry has their back, literally and figuratively. Aligning, even if informally via regular communication, meetings, even perhaps training and doing ride alongs is a start. And if the word and concept of “militia” is too tainted, call it a “Sheriffs Posse, or Civil Defense Guard,” or some other name. But we need to come together and do it now.

    • NC Scout September 10, 2020 at 10:16

      Antifa is a militia, too.

      • Crusty Curmudgeon September 11, 2020 at 07:44

I respectfully disagree with you. Antifa is not a militia. It is a gang of criminals or rioters.

        • NC Scout September 11, 2020 at 08:51

You should look up what a militia is, not what you think it is or want it to be. That’s the root of a lot of normalcy bias I’ve witnessed thus far.

Worked with different militias overseas. They ranged from decently competent (Peshmerga) to petty criminals (Sunni Sons of Iraq).

A militia doesn’t have to quote their constitution or regurgitate conservative talking points to be a militia.

      • Crusty Curmudgeon September 11, 2020 at 07:57

I respectfully disagree with you. Antifa is not a militia. At least not according to any reasonable definition of that term.
Antifa is a gang, band of criminals, thugs, rioters, etc.

        • NC Scout September 11, 2020 at 08:47

A militia is an armed group of irregulars representing a political aim.

          That is the definition. Period.

          • RLABruce September 11, 2020 at 13:21

Your definition of militia is WRONG.

            militia
            n. An army composed of ordinary citizens rather than professional soldiers.
            n. A military force that is not part of a regular army and is subject to call for service in an emergency.
            n. The whole body of physically fit civilians eligible by law for military service

All the definitions explicitly describe it in military terms: soldiers, military force, etc. Implicit in this is organization and a table of organization that shows foot soldiers all the way up to officers and general staff. Antifa isn’t that well organized; they are only a mob, not an army.

          • NC Scout September 11, 2020 at 15:01

You’re over here arguing a definition (which is incorrect) while I’m out training one.

Ask me again why I give a shit about YOUR OPINION.

        • Tionico September 11, 2020 at 13:42

AntifaARE a very well organised and sophisticated militia under any valid meaning of the term.
THey have a very well organised structure, ample funding also well organised, a VERY sophisticated system of communication, variouslevels of membership, vetting, regular training (the John Brown Gun CLub are their weapons, military, and tactics training branch), and are well directed through a very closely guarded and largely secret hierarchy. Tjey are far better organised and managed than the Bolsheviks ever were. Don’t be fooled. This I S war, whether you want to admit it or not, or whether you like it or not.

          • Traction September 11, 2020 at 17:54

Time to start hunting. Shoot on sight. Take the cell phones and weapons. Leave the bodies as a warning to others. Lather, Rinse, Repeat everywhere.

    • Shinmen Takezo September 10, 2020 at 11:31

After we put down and crush this ABR insurgency, no the word “militia” will no longer be regarded as a ‘dirty’ or be associated with extremism, In fact if this begins to play out as I see, people will be turning to the constitutional militias first for protection–and not the police or national guards.

And in a Trump second term–the concept of the civil (civilian) militia needs to be brought back into play in our daily lives in full force with even more federal enabling legislation and executive orders. Members of the Civil Militia who train, maintain weapons and belong to community groups should be allowed access to military supplies, allowed to maintain automatic weapons and be uniformed military style… with said equipment supplied by the government as you see with the Landswier in Switzerland. The Civilian Militia should be the first line of community defense, even before the National Guard shows up on the scene. Also Civilian Militia should be deputized just like Sherrif Arpio deputized civilians during his tenure as sherrif in Phoenix.

      • NC Scout September 10, 2020 at 11:41

The belligerents on both sides of the Ukrainian conflict serve as probably the best contemporary example. The ruling government for some time had little to no real authority in the 2016-2017 period. Its different today, for now, with the pro-Ukrainian side mostly falling in line out of convenience.

It is also important to note that from my contacts on both sides of that, reality kicked them all in the dick, and quickly. If you think this will be a quick and simple victory, you haven’t seen even the first taste of it.

Further, for anyone thinking it’ll simply be a free-for-all, YOU WILL FALL INTO LINE WITH SOMEONE. Or you’ll find yourself in a ditch.

        • Dan September 11, 2020 at 22:40

I appreciate the sober dose of reality. This is not going to be a cake walk. I have no combat experience but it is easy to (and respect at a certain level) that Antifa has a much higher level of commitment and organization than is evident on the side of “conservatives.” For over 100 hundred years “conservatives” have back pedaled at every usurpation while talking about how we are armed and will kick ass when the “time comes.” Even now we wait for President Trump, or “someone” to do something. Those who jailed Kyle Rittenhouse should be in fear for their lives. They don’t even think about it. Meanwhile Antifa and the muslims in Detroit and Minnesota have established police no go zones.

      • Matt Bracken September 10, 2020 at 13:00

The 2nd Amendment predated the existence of the modern police force, and it will outlast it. Militias and all.

  7. Johnny Paratroop September 10, 2020 at 09:58

After you shoot molotov carrying arsonists, they catch fire. The universe is funny like that.

    • Matt Bracken September 10, 2020 at 10:18

See video clips below. Most are police lit up by “protesters,” but a few are “own-goals.” They are the best. Nobody will shed a tear for an Antifa/BLM arsonist shot in the act. At the next “Kenosha,” arsonists should drop like flies, and then it will stop. I recommend 12 gauge turkey shot, but I’d also bring dove and buck shot depending on range and other considerations. The goal is to get the arsonist to drop his Molotov at his feet. About a dozen #4 turkey shot would get their attention, and there would be zero pity by the public. There is no civil right to burn and loot. ATSOS: Antifa/Arsonists Shot On Sight.

      • Ohio John September 10, 2020 at 11:05

Turkey loads are Evil! That is my go to for foxes (shotgun hanging by the backdoor) inside the fence messing with my chickens. I shoot 3.5″ with 2 oz of #4. 1300fps. I have a full turkey choke and about a 36″ pattern at 50 yards. A real shredder. I imagine at 75-100 yards it would really pepper a crowd hard with shot. Probably not very lethal at that distance but they probably wouldn’t want to get hit again with it.

        • Matt Bracken September 10, 2020 at 13:02

Particularly for the arsonists, after cars and buildings are burning.
The arsonists and their human shields in the mob around them, they are all equally culpable.
Being a human shield for an arsonist is going to be a lot less popular when it might mean catching ten or so #4s.

          • mike September 11, 2020 at 15:39

It would be handy to figure out the range at which a turkey load will still carry enough energy to break a lit glass bottle full of gasoline. That would certainly add some complications to the mix for the ABR “medics”.

  8. Matt Bracken September 10, 2020 at 10:03

Nobody is going to shed a tear for a Molotov cocktail arsonist shot in the act. They are the perfect targets for the beginning stage of the armed counterattack of defending civilization vs Communist barbarism. If you are holding a gasoline bomb, lit or unlit, you should be shot on sight. If you light yourself on fire in the act, so much the better. If this process is expedited with a local citizen’s shotgun shell, even better still. I would recommend 12G turkey shot.

That first video is a what’s coming to our neighborhoods at 3am. And if you are someone like Mr. Bracken, or the Authors of this website; Y’all are at the top of their lists. Guys like myself are probably somewhere in the middle of that list because I’m a “Nazi-Crusader who fought in Bush’s Illegal Genocide in the Middle East”.

Also, that guy in the first video was pretty fast, but he can be faster, and more efficient than that. He could have burned down both houses in very nearly the same amount of time.

  9. WilliamtheResolute September 10, 2020 at 10:05

I agree with this analysis. I just joined the USCCA (United States Concealed Carry Assoc.). I now have a $1 million dollar liability/bond self defense insurance policy for about $30.00 a month…I hope I never need it but it isn’t looking promising. Great site with great articles and insight on the current American situation.

  10. Coyyote September 10, 2020 at 10:11

One of the current problems is that if you are a member of one of the left-wing radical groups such as BLM you are lauded by the leftist governments corporations, pro sports, etc and aided and abetted by the progressive district attorney For your “peacefull protest“. However if you are a member of a right wing militia or some organized group of citizens protecting your neighborhood or heaven forbid, a national group such as the 3%ers, you are considered a domestic terrorist and arrested and prosecuted. Solving this issue is complex, but necessary.

I am reticent to join a organization as I will then be “on the list”. The other side is organized and may be on a list but don’t care especially since there is no government action against these organized mobs. So I (we) are behind the curve. Not good.

    • Kevin September 10, 2020 at 11:53

How are we supposed to organize, as the other side has, if we do not join organizations and get on lists? Very soon it will not matter if you are on a list. I don’t really care if I’m on a “list”, it means I’m doing something right.

      • NC Scout September 10, 2020 at 11:58

I’m on several dozen “lists” just due to what I did in the Army. It’s more like a badge of honor than something to be feared.

Masking your patterns of life is quite a bit more important.

        • Badger September 10, 2020 at 18:03

Quite so. As the father of a fishing buddy told me once, “if you’re not gettin’ snagged once in awhile you’re not fishin’ where the fish are.”

        • Curious Passerby September 12, 2020 at 01:12

The thought occurs to me the feds’ and LE lists are all potentially in the hands of the terrorists. Since fedgov and local gov are laced with traitors, there’s no reason to believe they aren’t getting all the stuff coming from fusion centers, infraguard, fbi, state and local cops, etc Being identified in public at and around these events becomes even more problematic when the machinery of the state is being used against you.

One more reason to follow Sun’s advice and Do Not Be There; find another way that doesn’t put you on the evening news.

    • vyt1az September 11, 2020 at 17:04

Did you cover your digital tracks visiting this website? I’m talking about DNS queries, IP address – including IPv6 leaks, browser agent + OS, and blocking certain analytics scripts?

If so, you’re on a list.

Even then, doing that could put you on a list for further scrutiny if you don’t do it properly.

Have you bought _any_ firearms or “tactical” items online or with a credit card in the last 20yrs?

If so, you’re on a list.

If I were an analyst I’d probably put you on a list for _not_ having bought any preparedness items in the last 6 months. Everyone preps now.

It’s just about at the point where it’s more advantageous to be well known for where you stand so your fellow Contras word can get out if you’re arrested / captured. Even more so if your AO has marxist government officials who are tolerating RevCom activities.

In those places if you’re not openly offering verbal / material support, you’re on a list. :-)

    • Dan September 11, 2020 at 22:44

If you would have asked me a year ago ‘was another civil war possible?’ –I would have answered “yes, it is possible–but very unlikely.”

But now?! –it is not only very possible, but highly likely. Please note that I inserted the word ‘highly’ in that last sentence. A couple of weeks ago, I did not think this subject was highly likely–but events have been cascading out of control more rapidly that anyone would have even imagined.

And today we have passed another post marker to this event… World Net Daily (a bastion of Normie-Con think) is now broaching the subject of organizing civil militias to cope with the possible unrest from ABR incited violence and unrest. This article written by Erik Rush even delves into the need for such militia’s to remove mayors, police chiefs and governors should they fail to uphold their oaths of office. Wow!

Yes–the Rubicon has been waded and crossed–and and is on our distant six.

  14. CPB September 10, 2020 at 12:01

The problem is this, shoot in defense of ones family and castle and the antifa/blm/communists get a pass and the law abiding, constitutional ” supreme law of the land” individual(s) get the shaft by law enforcement, remember, “enforcement” not peace officers. Fear is their tactic, and they are using it well. I am a firm believer in this and I quote,”These people are playing with matches… I don’t think they understand the scope and scale of the wildfire they are flirting with. They are fucking around with a civil war that could last a decade and cause millions of deaths… and the sad truth is that 95% of the problems we have in this country could be solved tomorrow, by noon… simply by dragging 100 people out in the street and shooting them in the fucking head.” (Change that number to a 1000 give or take and see things drastically change IMO.) But “they” know this and don’t care as they sit back in their uber rich homes surrounded by their security and are laughing their asses off. So…

If Warren vs. the District of Columbia ruled that police aren’t required to provide citizens with police services based on the public duty doctrine and therefore only exist to exert government power on others by enforcing laws that violate the U.S. Constitution, then how the fuck are the police not modern day redcoats?” And there’s the crux, you better understand they are/will just do their jobs against Mr. and Mrs. Constitutional believing American in a second and piss on your rights. So…

Are you willing to do what really must be done and to whom….

One of the primary sparks of the revolutionary war was the Boston massacre. in that case a mob of 300 angry rowdy and violent men, many of them from the criminal class, taunted the handful of British, pushing them to shoot. The Captain in charge did all he could to avoid a shooting but things just got out of hand and our revolutionary fathers used this event to turn the populist toward their cause. Funny how nothing changes. it is because of this, the police leadership are afraid to act. Doing their job as you suggest would create what Glenn Beck termed the “Bubba Effect.” That is why it will be up to the armed populist to put this lawlessness to the rest. I thank you for your article.

  19. Truth in Tension September 10, 2020 at 21:03

Matt’s article is right-on-point. All of Matt’s article and books are required reading for all American patriots.

There are also many good points made in the comments. I would add that the ABR members are very similar to the Brown Shirts in Germany. Just like the Brown Shirts they burn, loot, and murder, but in the end, they will be terminated by their masters just as Hitler terminated the Brown Shirts.

In as much, as the ABR will have to be dealt with, I believe the more important issue and objective is identifying those groups, individuals, organizations and countries that are financing, equipping, providing training, and orchestrating the revolutionary insurgency, and when they are identified holding them accountable. This will be the real fight, because the traitors within, have been bought-off and are in-line with the powers that are orchestrating the insurgency. I refer to these powers as The Brotherhood of Darkness which was the name given to them by the late Dr. Stan Monteith. It is becoming more apparent that these traitors are embedded throughout all government agencies both local and federal.

I believe that China, along with other powers within the Brotherhood of Darkness, is actively directing much of the insurrection. So why China, because there are 2 key reasons. First, their leadership has stated on multiple occasions that they intend to defeat and occupy America. I do not believe this is an empty handed threat. Second, their leadership has stated that China must have the natural resources and food production that America currently enjoys, so that they can feed their Chinese population. Without the American food production China will most assuredly risks an insurgency by their own population. China does not recognize property rights, nor do they want open free market trading.

I would not be surprised to learn that most career politicians in all states and the federal government are bought and paid for by Chinese operatives. Elected office holders in California most probably will be at the top of the list of traitors.

If current events continue to move towards a full blown communist insurrection be prepared to face Chinese operatives and troops who will be highly trained and fully equipped for battle. In the initial phase they may be wearing UN uniforms in order to confuse the American population. The UN uniforms will be discarded as more of their troops land on the west coast, Canada and Mexico. This will take the current situation to a whole new level. And should this take place ABR will join with the Chinese troops and then, they will be forgotten as nothing more then a foot note in history, as the Chinese troops will terminate all of the ABR members. After all, why would the Chinese leadership trust the ABR members that were traitors to their own neighbors, cities, states and country?

I would be interested in everyones thoughts on the Chinese involvement with ABR insurgency.

I don’t think China has the military to actually invade the US. Their military is conscripted. Their primary mission is defense of the communist party, not the country. Much of their conscript military training consists of ideological classes and singing party songs. They lack a unified chain of command and haven’t fought in anything like a war since the 1940s. Their most recent action close to a war is their failed invasion of Vietnam 40 years ago. They have a hard time recruiting healthy people. Chinese are so big compared to just 1-2 generations ago, they have been forced to redesign and refurbish their equipment. And they face a rising tide of dissatisfaction at home, pressure on their borders, a slowing economy, a growing food shortage, a public sense they’ve lost the mandate of heaven, premier Poohbear’s crack-down at home and purge of the party, world hostility over their Chinese Flu deception and their ethnic cleansing of the Muslims in the west, anger over their debt trap posing as the New Silk Road, and Pooh’s plans to cut them off from the external world to focus on an internal Chinese economy and revamping their currency. Pooh is literally trying to re-create that time the Mandarins closed China off from the outside world, burned their ships, burned their maps, and cut off all foreign access to the country.

I could see them sending “peace keepers” here to take advantage of our weakness in some areas, but I don’t think they can carry out an actual invasion. They lack a real blue water navy. They recently had to concede their vaunted super-duper stealth fighter is actually on a level with an F16. They still have to get here and support their troops, something they have no experience doing. And they would be facing a lot of angry people when they got here who are armed. The Chinese are great at bullying unarmed people. I am not convinced they are prepared for an actual fight.

    Coordinated arson attacks in Oregon.
Am seeing reports of arrests being made of multiple individuals.
    ANTIFA? RevComs?
State police have arrested people bearing AR15’s for setting fires.

Excellent article, but just a small quibble with your wording. You wrote: “…abdicated its traditional and expected role in breaking up violent riots.” It’s not just traditional and expected, it is mandatory. Everyone has the right to self defense as part of their right to life. We have DELEGATED the power to protect that right to the police and judicial system so that the application will be (it is hoped) consistent and uniform. The deal is that if people “give up” (in the sense of “delegate”) their right to self-defense and justice, then the agents of the government will faithfully exercise it on the people’s behalf. If the government and its agents FAIL in their part of the bargain (or refuse to uphold it), then individuals have no choice other than to take matters into their own hands. This is the society the Democrats are promoting.

I post with name of FOOT in the Forest. Not just a name but the place I live. Seven years ago I drove an antique crawler tractor equipped with a blade into a fully crowned fire. At 3000 pounds Ollie is not really a bulldozer but he does try hard. He and I were somewhat successful 3 out of four homes in our neighborhood survived and he and I only got burned around the edges. He got repaired and hair and skin grows back. That fire was an act of mother nature, shit does happen. Anyone using any type of fire starting device in my Forest to burn myself or my neighbors out will be shot on site. Anyone with them will be shot as an accomplice. I will not under any circumstances allow myself to be incarcerated for simply protecting myself and my neighbors. I am a man with certain rights and no man will rob me of them be he a Marxist revolutionary or Armed Government Worker. All I have ever wanted was to be left alone to live my life as I see fit. I harm no one and ask the same in return. I will not be burned out by any man and will defend unto death my right to live as I see fit.

With a olace lie that and anOliver like that, no need to fear any further consequences of such an event. I’m certain Ollie will happily scrape out a nice deep tranch, then push “the evidence” in, and replace the dirt, providing the now departed putative murders a nice long quiet dirt nap. It is possible, thoughremotely so, that someone might miss their return to whatever passes as “home”, but not for long. “They just didn’t come back that night”.

Over July 4th weekend, a group of antifa traveled to our small town with the intent of tagging our courthouse and removing the first national flag that proudly flies on the square. We know, because a local guy that was once liberal but has awakened was told so by local agitators. The local hotel was full of out-of-state plate.

A friend asked me to help out. A half dozen or so patriots sat on the verge of the square from sundown to sunup each day. We saw at least two foot soldiers reconnoitering; they each gave us a wide berth as we looked serious. Several times, carloads of freaks rode around the square hurling insults at us (only words); I think they understood that projectiles would have been a very bad idea.

The police, who are not staffed for a constant vigil, stopped by several times sharing intelligence and encouraging us. I met some of the serious guys here and let them know I was responsible. It was a great time. I learned a lot about my adopted town from folks whose families had been here since the area was originally settled. The family names are widely known and prominent in place names.

The police did manage to arrest one of the miscreants on a combination of weapons charges (brandishing, I believe) and outstanding felony warrants from another jurisdiction. No firearms were ever openly displayed over night.

Too bad they were able to easily drive away from that hotel.

“at this writing in September of 2020, there is no moral or ethical requirement for a law-abiding American citizen to wait for a lit Molotov cocktail or any other incendiary or explosive device to crash through the window of their home or business”

Unfortunately, Matthew, we live in a time when many (most?) in a position of authority in the alleged “criminal justice system” are hard-core leftists who see nothing at all wrong with weaponizing the law to achieve their ideological and political aims. Having long sense abandoned even the pretense of adherence to the “rule of law” or the principle of “equal justice under/before the law”. Whether it is true journalists having to try and appeal an utterly bogus conviction all the way to SCOTUS or a teenaged victim prosecuted for defending himself it is abundantly clear that leftist prosecutors and judges have no problem abusing their office to suppress and eliminate any/every one they see as an enemy of their politics/ideology.

    • Matt Bracken September 11, 2020 at 18:46

Yes, and that’s why I said “moral and ethical requirement,” not “legal requirement,” when defending against arsonists.

    • Dan September 11, 2020 at 22:51

I suppose that you need to make “those in authority” fear something other than the mob they support. They are not exercising authority – they are exercising power. They need to test power turned toward them.

    https://www.worldtribune.com/former-cia-operative-we-are-in-phase-2-of-a-marxist-maoist-takeover-of-the-nation/

“Former CIA operative: We are in Phase 2 of a Marxist-Maoist takeover of the nation”

by WorldTribune Staff, August 26, 2020

An organizer of the ongoing rioting in Portland admitted that the goal of the anarchists who are besieging America is the “abolition of the United States as we know it.”

Charles “Sam” Faddis, a former CIA operative with 30 years of experience in intelligence operations, noted: “We are watching an insurrection in progress, one which uses incidences of the police use of force as pretexts, but which has as its goal the destruction of the existing social, economic and political order in the United States.”

‘The tide can be turned right now. The first step in doing so, however, is to acknowledge what is happening.’
In an Aug. 25 analysis for AND Magazine, Faddis noted that “the Maoist theory of revolutionary war holds that there are three phases to the struggle for the establishment of a Communist state.”

In the first stage, Faddis wrote, “the revolutionaries organize and consolidate in base areas. They establish a platform from which to launch follow on operations. In some sense, this phase of the revolution is already well underway and has been for many years. All across America, Marxists have gained control of colleges, universities, mass media, and even the corporate boardrooms of ‘woke’ corporations. The numbers of young, college-educated, white Americans participating in the ongoing destruction of our cities shows just how effective and far-reaching this penetration has been.”

The second phase, Faddis noted, “involves the progressive expansion of the use of terror and the initiation of attacks on isolated ‘enemy’ units. The goals in this phase are to obtain arms, acquire supplies, and gain political support. Symbols of ‘regime’ authority like police stations and government facilities are typical targets for Maoists during this phase.”

Faddis continued: “We are already well into the second phase of this revolution. When the Third Precinct building in Minneapolis was sacked in the early phases of this insurrection that was not a random action. It was a deliberate attack on the authority of the existing government. It is likewise no accident that much of the violence in Portland has been centered on the federal courthouse or that BLM and Antifa actions in recent weeks have expanded to attacks on the residences of mayors, chiefs of police and police union officials.

“This will continue. It will expand. All levels of government at the local, state, and federal will be targeted. Officials will be intimidated. Government authority will be challenged and then replaced. Areas will begin to move under the control of the Maoists. This process is already underway.”

The mayors of Portland, Seattle, and other cities have been intimidated “by the power of the insurrectionists,” Faddis wrote, and have “shifted to supporting them and turning against their own police forces. The Mayor of Portland has gone into the street and stood side by side with individuals attacking the federal building. The Mayor of New York City famously participated in painting a Black Lives Matter tribute banner on a city street weeks ago.”

As their power grows, Black Lives Matter, Antifa and other anarchists “will expand the scope of their challenge to the authority of the existing governmental structure,” Faddis wrote.

Then, phase three begins, as the level of violence expands. “We will see a shift from vandalism, burning, and beatings to the use of Molotov cocktails, firearms and car bombs,” Faddis wrote.

If that happens, then “we are well past the point where this movement could have been snuffed out easily, the Maoists will begin to challenge the federal government directly. In control – by this point of urban centers, National Guard armories, and fielding their own police forces – the revolutionaries will move to threaten the very existence of the republic,” Faddis wrote.

The Marxist-Maoist takeover “can be crushed,” Faddis wrote. “The tide can be turned right now. The first step in doing so, however, is to acknowledge what is happening. A revolution is underway. The first phase is largely complete. The next phase has already begun. We need to stop it now.”

Revolver: A Retired CIA Ops Officer Warns; The Left’s Communist Revolution Doesn’t Care About Elections

[This is why I include the R in ABR, for Antifa-BLM-RevCom. Here is an excerpt, please read it all at the Revolver link.]

We are not experiencing a wave of social unrest generated by injustice or police brutality. We are watching an insurrection in progress, one which uses police violence as a pretext, but which has as its goal the destruction of the existing social, economic and political order in the United States.

Refuse Fascism is one of the primary umbrella organizations supporting Antifa demonstrations nationwide. Refuse Fascism is a creation of the Revolutionary Communist Party of the United States. If you watch footage of the chaos in our streets, you will quickly see signs linked to both groups.

The leader of the so-called RevComs is Bob Avakian. Avakian is a lifelong revoutionary, who spent his youth with Students for a Democratic Society, a domestic extremist group active in the 1960’s and 1970’s. In 2016 Avakian’s RevComs and other leftist groups formed Refuse Fascism. Avakian is remarkably direct about about the goals of this movement.

“Let’s get down to basics. We need a revolution. Anything else, in the final analysis, is bullshit,” he said recently.

Avakian’s party is no less direct. It has published a proposed constitution for the New Socialist Republic in North America, which it hopes to establish. Some excerpts from it read as follows:

“The New Socialist Republic in North America is…a form of dictatorship – the dictatorship of the proletariat…”
[Please read it all at the link.]

Now even the dimwitted should be able to clearly see why those cities and states most effected by the anarchy worked so hard over recent years to first disarm their citizenry, or to at least make it as difficult as possible for citizens to arm themselves with suitable firearms and ammo. Public education (indoctrination) and constant propaganda spewed from media and entertainment sources did their part to keep citizens ignorant and distracted while cultivating them into sheep. The communists know that they do not have to take the entire country to win. They only need the population centers (Democrat controlled to begin with) and ultimately Washington, D.C to win while we stand flat-footed in “fly over” country clutching our ARs and never getting the chance to respond while watching it all skip right over us. Think back to the island hopping campaign of WWII. They don’t need Podunk, Neb. They want the power centers. With half the country and seemingly a majority of the government, already sympathetic to the leftist cause if not outright supporting it, the mob is well on its way to success. The mob is only the useful idiots, of course, and will be disposed of eventually while it is those probably unknown to us pulling the strings who ultimately intend to become the power.

Guys, we do have to defend ourselves and find the inner-fortitude to do so when required regardless of the consequences. But we also need to broaden our view past just who to shot and how and when to shot them. It will fall to the citizen, not the police. The police in general have clearly demonstrated that they work for the government… and that paycheck… not the citizenry.

We are absolutely morally justified in taking down the arsonists and assassins. But …. we need to rally as much public opinion behind us as we can, first. We need to re-take the moral high ground. I have an idea for a way to do that … at least a step in the right direction.

Tens of millions of Americans are getting fed up to the back teeth with the arson, looting, rioting and murder that we have been witnessing for the past few months, occurring while some elected fofficials sat on their hands, or even helped pay the bail for the infrequent cases of arrest.

I would like to ask this group to comment on an idea I came across (at BookWormRoom.com):Let’s have a Show the Flag Day to express our disgust and anger, and our determination to stand up and be counted in our support of the thin blue line that stands between us and anarchy.

Let’s choose a date — perhaps Sunday, 18 October — when everyone who stands against AntiFa and BurnLootMurder, will display the flag, in every way we can.

We might call it “Stand Up for America Day”.

(And entrepreneurs can work overtime supplying us with flags before the date.)

Fly the flag, put up posters with its image, have bumper stickers with it, have public rallies with it … give the ‘silent majority’ a way to show their feelings.

It should not be a ‘partisan’ effort. Invite the support of all politicians, right across the political spectrum.

This will put our gutless liberal politicians on the spot — either they will have to go along with it — and alienate the radical part of the their base — or they will have to try to ignore it, and, hopefully, alienate the ‘ordinary Democrat’ part of their base.

If we’re going to do this we must start NOW.

If you think this is a good idea, please come to https://CivilianDefenseForce.org where we’ll be discussing how to coordinate this, or PM me here. If you’re not sure about this idea, please contribute your criticisms here in this thread..

We’re going to need to be able to contact every veterans’ group, every police union, every patriotic organization, ever church, that we can. Clearly, getting the Oathkeepers and the Threepers and the rest of the militia movement behind this idea is probably crucial to bringing it off

There will be a lot of work involved in assembling the email addresses of these groups in order to get in touch with them … but it can be done. Your help would be hugely appreciated.

Here is the article that first gave me this idea:
