Nice review.
This is the unit I have been wanting, as it can attach to the plate carrier.
Need or want?

My only complaintwould be the non standard slide release buckles.
Those pouches would make a good hygiene kit(With Wipes), or gun cleaning, or foot care kit(with socks).
They are really good for things like that. Weapon maintenance kit, first aid kit, foot care kit like you mention, radio kit, etc…
I’m curious to see how you bring this all together. I assume you will add some Jute and some Rattle Can Camouflage.
I have two of those “Voodoo” packs. The thin, narrow ones. They are good patrol packs, especially with armor. But they are quite limited for anything beyond 24 hours. 4 of those 4 liter pouches would really free up some space in any pack.
Excellent briefing on the DG-1. It is almost a buy.
I will wait for a review after a hours of loaded pack wear. Reason is that most packs I have used, or tried, need a form of spinal cooling open area and some form of sweat/heat dissipating materiel that prevents buckles, hard seams from digging in and rubbing my shoulder blades/lat areas yet allows sweat to evaporate. We are all very different physically, the manner that we walk, and the in the way we negotiate terrain.
Aside from that, I really like what the DG-1 offers when caring rain gear, well thought out attachment options.
