DEAL ALERT: The “Survive Everything” Bundle from HumbleBundle

I check Humble Bundle every so often to see if there are any good video game or book deals on the site. Part of the money they make goes to charity, and you can use the sliders when you purchase to determine how much goes where.
I came across this deal, which is good for the next seven days. Depending on how much money you pay, you will be able to purchase the following books. I highly recommend you pick these up.
For each bundle, a mere $18 gets you every book in the bundle. The tiers don’t add up. You can download the books in MOBI, EPUB, or PDF.
EDIT: Below this bundle is another bundle that may interest you.

Here is a bundle that contains a bunch of “XXX For Dummies” guides. Some of them might make great reference guides.

Guess it was too much to expect actual physical books for the money. Should have known!

Hence why they are able to offer it at these prices. Couple of cheap tablets and you are good to go. I prefer physical books too, but this deal is too good to pass up.

There are used book stores and if you stick your head in them every now and then you can clean up on some great deals.

Damn $100 for all that? Thanks Patriotman. I wonder if I can download these to my kindle.

I don’t know what format these books are in. But in case some of you don’t know, with your Amazon account you actually get a Kindle email address. You can email Mobi formatted books to that address and they will get added to your Kindle library. Also, you can email PDFs and Amazon will convert them to Kindle format. You have to put “convert” in the subject line if you email PDFs. Some PDFs don’t convert great but a lot of them do.

You should add that to the post. The motorcycle book for dummies saved me $300-400 and 2 days of my time over the last ten years. At least.

Not complaining too much, and thanks for the link. I just don’t trust digital anything any longer. I’m not too tech savvy, I suppose there’s a way to store digicopies off line… cheap tablets you say? Download the entire copy to tablets or thumbdrives???

    • wwes March 8, 2021 at 15:38

Thumb drives work well, and you can get used tablets dirt cheap. You can also use an old laptop if you have one laying around.

In the majority of events requiring application of these books, either you’ve committed all of their knowledge into your memory or it will be inaccessible without electricity. Hence the need for hard copy. As in, archaic “books” (or at least printouts).
I checked on two titles in the $1 tier and found the Illustrated Encyclopedia of Natural Remedies (condition: very good) available in hard back at online used book seller “Thriftbooks” for . mere $6.09. Shipping is extra but waived if book total(s) high enough. I ordered it. Another title for Composting I may snag later.
Thanks for pointing to some great resources, Patriotman!
