    “Kinky Boots,” redux
I drove my MRAP through your garden last night,
Kicked down your door and shot your dog at midnight,
Oh, someone snitched to me, boy,
    You’ve been living free,
    D’ya need a visit from the Bee-Ay-Tee-Eff-Ee?
Oh, I’ve got a brand new Kevlar helmet and a pair of kinky boots,
I’ve got a lovely new flack jacket and a lovely navy suit,
And when we go on night patrol, we hold each other’s hands-,
We are the Federal army, a pox on all the land
My good friend Donna, says she’s an “antifash,”
But all she really does is get stoned on hash,
I said go to Montana, if you really want a fight,
But she won’t go into combat, it’s her gay furry right!
Oh, I’ve got a brand new biking helmet and a pair of kinky boots,
I’ve got a lovely new black hoodie and my lovely hair chartreuse,
And when we go on night patrol we light ourselves aflame,
We are the revolution, and we fear St. Kyle’s name.

NCScout, what are some good historical books regarding “The Troubles” and the fight for Irish independence? Not just memoirs/autobiographies and such.

    • Wyogrunt March 17, 2021 at 21:53

Tim Pat Coogan wrote a number of great books. Michael Collins, The IRA, and The Troubles are a few.

“The Squad” by T. Ryle Dwyer looks into the intelligence operations

I’ve been thinking for a while that Team FreeFor needs some good songs.

I recommend “Bandit Country” by Toby Harnden. A long read, but a very detailed glimpse into IRA cross-border operations and the British response in South Armagh county.
A belated Happy Saint Pat’s Day, Lads and Lasses!

Thank you gentlemen for the recommendations.
