Justice Department seeking Conspiracy case against Oathkeepers

Newly minted Attorney General Merrick Garland’s Department of Justice is seeking a Conspiracy case against the Oathkeepers, according to the New Hampshire Union Leader newspaper. The building case is in response to the Stop the Steal protest that some have erroneously labeled a riot.
That said, there’s a number of interesting tidbits to digest regarding the disclosed communications structure of the groups in question:

One day after Rhodes and Caldwell spoke together, charging papers alleged, Watkins texted recruits of the small group she founded, the Ohio State Regular Militia, describing a “Basic Training class coming up in the beginning of January” and telling one recruit: “I need you fighting fit by innaugeration.”
So she texted her ‘recruits’, rather than pass them information in person. First mistake.
On Dec. 30, Caldwell allegedly complained to Watkins that he still hadn’t been contacted by anyone about Jan. 6, adding that if Rhodes “isn’t making plans, I’ll take charge myself, and get the ball rolling.”
Putting trust in people you don’t know, having no tactical patience and acting on your own accord. Second mistake.
However, prosecutors alleged that one day later, Watkins was invited to a “leadership only” conference call on Signal for the “DC op.” She also participated with Rhodes in an encrypted Signal chat called “DC OP: Jan 6 21,” in which prosecutors allege Rhodes was in contact with regional Oath Keepers leaders from multiple states.
Ah yes. The great conference call and group chats. Because we’re all equals, right? Wrong. Leadership is not linear. There’s a reason hierarchy exists, and its a tried and true method. Conference calls to coordinate action is asinine in the first place because a Leader clearly defines his role by contacting only those closest to him and giving instructions, but further, if you’re planning something like a would-be insurrection, you have to know at least one person on the call is recording it.
Further, group texts are equally as stupid. Under no circumstances should a Leader contact more than one subordinate at a time unless its a single duress word initiating a destruction plan. And even then, it should be set to vanish after a short period of time.
Both of these are insulative measures that protects the hierarchy of a resistance movement. Its unfortunate that this case is unfolding the way that it is, but understand that these are lessons to be learned the hard way. The answer is understanding the tradecraft behind the techniques and burning into your memory that YOUR PATH OF LEAST RESISTANCE IS YOUR ADVERSARY’S FIRST AVENUE OF APPROACH.
Merrick Garland & co are at war with you. Quit making it easy.

I could care less about the Oathkeepers and, frankly, I don’t think they are, or were, ever on Team FreeForce.
Stewart Rhodes looks like an Ompa Lompa in person and he surrounds himself with people who look like Feds.
I have met him in person. And ran into him at multiple venues in D.C.. He isn’t friendly or personable at all.
And, again, why is he always surrounded by out of shape dorks who don’t look anything like a soldier or marine.
They look like FLEA desk jockeys if you ask me. And they act like a deer in the headlights when you say “hi” to them on the street.
Stick to yourself, and those you know. Groups like the Oathkeepers “glow in the dark”.

Where do you think they recruit their Timothy McVeighs from? They have profiles of the right mindset right there and the Fleas within them matriculate them and set them up as patsy’s for false flags…duh. On another thought, what is the best way to fully arm an entire nation for 20 years running? Look at the last 20. If these people really wanted us unarmed they would pass legislation at midnight on Xmas. This is what I see coming. But they forgot they have bene encouraging the arming of the entire nation for two decades…..either they are stupid, have a reason to arm us all against something, or setting up millions to be gulag’d to get rid of specific eaters to also help out the environment. Most of these eaters they target are meat eaters, gun enthusiasts, fearful of God, patriotic, land owner’s etc.

While the assessments here puff some truth into contact methods, there are some bigger truths to come from this Jan. 6 incident. Stuart is no idiot, and he has assumed a necessary role that very few would take up. He also knows that infiltration is the price of admission, so quick point of contact has probably been accounted for. Most important of all, we need OK as the primary Constitutionalists. Let me explain further.
Up until last year the commies have acted as the parasites that they are; they attack the weakest organism or part of the body first until the rest withers. Recently, however, they have attacked the thing they FEAR the most. Very out of character, why? The answer is simple; “truth is a powerful disinfectant.” Basically, they are losing…Proof? They stole an election! People weren’t withering and in fact, were growing very Constitutional.
Enter the Oathkeepers. They have only acted Constitutionally, have only organized protests, not insurrections, and attempted to enlist only honest folk, wherever possible. Your Government on the other hand has acted openly against the Constitution (an act of insurrection, and a Capitol Offense), and managed to impose dictates which certain factions of society seemingly obey due to fear. The Oathkeepers are one of the only groups to allow for a large contingency to oppose said commies. Not a bad thing.
Give this some consideration…We need the Oathkeepers as much as they need us. With a large group taking most of the flak, it gives the gray a chance to operate between the seams, if you will. Because the gray is not associated with the large group, they won’t put a stink on the larger operations, but have high shock value, and recruiting for that matter. Remind you of any of the counterinsurgencies of the last Century? It should!
While I agree that their form of coms doesn’t fit our endeavors, they have value for them. Look at the creeps it ferreted out if nothing else. It will be very hard for the G to bring a legitimate Insurrection Act case against people who formed a 1st Amendment Protest, and in fact, the gate may swing the other way into a Title 18Ch. 13 Sec. 242, or 241 https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/18/part-I/chapter-13
t their methods help us, not debilitate us…that’s the key. We are in it together, no matter how others act. To this I add “It’s coming whether we ant it or not, so be ready!”

      I don’t disagree at all.
This is served as a ‘lessons learned’ or, at least, should be learned.

      • GK March 14, 2021 at 18:06

You and I generally have similar views, and I agree with what you wrote. A long time ago, I mentioned to Stuart that this openness on the group chats may be a problem. Heck, I joined one about protecting schools and invited my Sheriff, only to have the trouble makers start up about Civil War. The worse part was Stuart entertaining their questions live.
I knew right then his group and myself have differing means to ends goals, but not to throw out the baby with bath water.

        • NC Scout March 14, 2021 at 18:57

Right. For the record I’ve had nothing but positive interactions with OK National. Local chapters are hit or miss, like everything.
Point is, what’s highlighted here is terrible practice that is unfortunately the status quo among ‘patriot’ groups.
Guys like myself and the authors here may be fighting to change it, but until people get their collective asses seriously kicked, they’re gonna keep repeating the same mistakes.

          • GK March 14, 2021 at 20:49

“YOUR PATH OF LEAST RESISTANCE IS YOUR ADVERSARY’S FIRST AVENUE OF APPROACH. ”
It’s also worth studying as a psyops mechanism. Make your adversary believe you are going to do something that never manifests…get them to expel their resources, or be somewhere you aren’t.

          • NC Scout March 14, 2021 at 22:18

While true, it’s hard enough to get people bent on insurrection to stop using a social media platform designed to entrap them.

    • Juri March 14, 2021 at 17:28

“””…Basically, they are losing…Proof? They stole an election!…”””
I am worried that you are wrong. Commies stole the elections because they were sure that they winning and there will be no resistance whatsoever. So they just took the cloves off. And they were right.
I hate communism and want anti communist to win but looking from the former Soviet Union territory, your things look as bad as our things were in 1917. Communism run amok and nobody has no idea how to stop them.

      • GK March 14, 2021 at 17:59

Except, exactly when groups of regular folk were rediscovering that “we’re not all that different,” they set up a scamdemic to separate folk. Very interesting timing, isn’t it? They broke up the very structured groups that could self examine their likenesses. Church, school, family, special interests…it was by design, and remember that the Russian Commies didn’t just get to take over, the way people believe. Several civil wars erupted after the Bolshevik takeover. Oh by the way, that’s when the Russian tyrants knew it was time to separate the herds, and take away the guns. Sound Familiar?
They are going to extreme measures, because they know they are wrong, and the general public is sniffing it out.
Main thing to understand about a progressive; “First they learn to lie to themselves, everything after that is second nature.” That’s why their narrative is always full of hypocrisy, and is their Achilles Heel.

        • Juri March 15, 2021 at 05:26

About those Russians, they are moderately optimistic and think that US patriots will win. Alexander Dugin is not random writer but ideologue for Russian Government and strongmen and has access to highest level of Russian intelligence information. So the text below is inlook how Russian Government sees current world situation.
THE MANIFESTO OF GREAT AWAKENING. AGAINST GREAT RESET.
“”””….Let us briefly list the reserves on which the Great Awakening can count on a global scale.
The US Civil War: the choice of our camp
In the US, we have a foothold in Trumpism. Although Trump himself lost, this does not mean that he himself has washed his hands, resigned to a stolen victory, and that his supporters – 70,000,000 Americans – have settled down and taken liberal dictatorship as a given. They have not. From now on, there is a powerful anti-globalist underground in the US itself, large in number (half the population!), embittered, and driven to despise liberal totalitarianism. The dystopia of Orwell’s 1984 was not embodied in a communist or fascist regime, but is now in a liberal one. But the experience of both Soviet communism and even Nazi Germany show that resistance is always possible.
Today, the US is essentially in a state of civil war. The liberal-Bolsheviks have seized power, and their opponents have been thrown into opposition and are on the verge of going illegal. An opposition of 70,000,000 people is serious. Of course, they are scattered and may be in disarray by the punitive raids of the Democrats and the new totalitarian technology of Big Tech.
But it is too early to write off the American people……”””

      • NC Scout March 14, 2021 at 18:58

The interesting part is that the group raising hell in the streets, antifa, etc and the people who rigged the election are mutually exclusive.
This is a difficult concept for many to even entertain, but it is no less a fact.

        • GK March 14, 2021 at 20:53

True, but they have the same near end game in mind. Only difference is the higher ups will eat their facilitators (ANTIFA, Brownshirts), to finish the end goal.

      • Mark. March 15, 2021 at 00:45

Unfortunately Juri, I think you are likely correct. The commies think we are weak, disorganized and morally in disarray. I recall reading somewhere that when the commies took over Eastern Europe after WWII they simply marched into government buildings and declared themselves to be in charge. The opposition was exhausted by war, and in lacking sufficient unified organization, was unable to mount an effective response. Millions of Soviet troops would not have made things easier either. Here in our own country, we have an occupying army of police and military that are rapidly falling under control of the commies. The US, along with the rest of the west is rapidly heading politically in the direction of cold war Eastern Europe. I don’t believe all is lost, but I do believe that we are behind the curve. Unfortunately, as we fall further behind the curve, the commies will become more emboldened and seek to press the attack and finish us. At that point I hope someone or a group of such will bloody their noses real good and hard. I’m convinced such an act will either trigger all out war or our extermination. In case of the former, we should consider some history of how Americans of the 1770s handled a similar, really bad situation: they sought outside help. That outside help would prove decisive at Yorktown in October 1781.

    • VonSteuben March 16, 2021 at 05:12

I agree. We need the Oath Keepers like the Provisional IRA needed Sinn Fein.

  6. hilarious clintonius March 14, 2021 at 16:37

So does this mean DOJ is going to prosecute all federal employees, and the military, who take their oath seriously? If you keep your oath long enough to get the job, you are an oath keeper, and subject to prosecution…

To quote the always able Mr Bracken this looked like a buffalo jump in DC on the 6th and although the remnants of our local tea party were encouraging me to go with them my gut told me no . The river Styx is not where you plan a protest and DC is more like hell everyday.

  9. Stanwyck March 15, 2021 at 16:46

Just some information on a DOJ case against an “Oathkeeper”
Apparently you don’t even have to be an “Oathkeeper” to be an “Oathkeeper”. I highly suggest reading the whole article.
    https://dianawest.net/Home/tabid/36/EntryId/4212/Free-Thomas-Caldwell-Now.aspx
    a snippet:
“What happened is this: Judge Amit Mehta ordered the pre-trial release of Lt. Commander (USN, ret.) Thomas Caldwell (above), 66, to home confinement pending trial on numerous charges spun out of the DOJ fever dream that a handful of Oath Keepers militia (of which Caldwell is not even a member) conspired to lead a pre-planned attack on the Capitol to stop Congress from certifying the fraudulent 2020 election.
That may not sound like much, but he judge’s decision lets a crack of light onto what has been unmitigated darkness.
    Politico:
The decision is a setback for the Justice Department as it seeks to show that some elements of the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol were part of sophisticated and organized cells intent on violently blocking the transition of power.
The reason the judge’s decision is a “setback” is because Caldwell is the Justice Department’s “lead defendant” in its fantasy of premeditated insurrection. How, in their hasty and error-filled indictment (see below), did Government lawyers conclude Caldwell was a leader of this supposed army of Trump rebels? Because Caldwell’s social media handle is “Commander Tom.”
