Know in advance that the FCC will require your home address when they issue you a license. It is then posted on several on line sites for the entire world to have access. That is unacceptable. Ahmed and cousin Mo, in a cave somewhere, will have detail maps with specs of your home AO. So too any domestic enemies should they want to locate you. Use a different address. I have commented to the FCC etc that our homes ought not be made available to anyone. Crickets.
For that reason train, drill, and equip people off book. Donate equipment so there’s a cache stashed somewhere. License people but have a cadre of unlicensed thus unkowns to pick up where licensed operators leave off WHEN something happens to them. When SHTF no one will ask or care if you’re licensed.
I had a second point I wanted to mention but I have CRS and forget what it was. I may be back to amend this.
Sorry for the verbal diarrhea but I think you all should be warned in advance.

  The FCC does not require a home address. Only a mailing address.

    True. Most people will, without thought, give their home address. QRZ picks up on what the FCC has and via their Detail Tab provides all the info one needs to locate the station. That was ok before our present situation. I didn’t become a Ham as a hobby. For me it’s a mission. I do not even want my home address provided to the world wide public.

        I laughed when I first read this. A sign of maturity is humility. Not sure if I can still rock the house but I won’t sit on the porch either. Looking forward to selling this place simplifying my life and taking classes. Thanks NCS.

      Roger. That is the way to go. New licensees ought to be forewarned before submitting their home address so they have one prepared in advance.
