TDG Tuesday: Antifa Roadblock

I am starting this new series, TDG (Tactical Decision Game) Tuesdays, to get you more in the mindset of how you could potentially handle a given tactical scenario with a limited amount of resources and manpower.  My goal is to get you to read these scenarios and think about what resources you have available, what sort of scenarios you might encounter, and what gaps you need to fill in your equipment/training.
I will use the basic 5-paragraph operations order format, or SMEAC, to present the scenario as follows;
Situation: Disposition of all friendly, hostile, and adjacent forces.
Mission: What we are trying to do.
Execution: How we are going to do it.
Admin & Logistics: Who/what is getting where and how.
Command & Signal: Who is in charge and how they are communicating.

TDG 1: Antifa Roadblock

Situation: Partial collapse scenario, National Guard are caught up trying to maintain order in the large population centers due to BLM/ANTIFA riots and civil unrest.

  • OPFOR Situation: Communist insurgents from the group “Redneck Revolt” are taking advantage of the chaos and have started setting up armed road blocks to check for “fascists” in some rural areas, the nearest one at crossroads “Alpha”. They are harassing, beating, and sometimes robbing anyone with any sort of pro-Trump or pro-America stickers on their cars. Our scout team has observed them wielding a mixture of AK/AR type rifles, shotguns, and handguns depending on who is currently on the rotating shifts. Their strength is normally about a fire team (4-5 shooters) and they rotate watch every 8 hours.
  • BLUFOR Situation: You and your 3 buddies are thus far ordinary citizens who occasionally meet and train together but have not yet conducted operations. However, armed communists setting up roadblocks on American soil is a crossed line for you and you will not allow it to go unanswered.
  • Independent Elements Situation: LE is reluctant to do anything about the roadblocks due to political pressure and the press is praising the insurgents as “freedom fighters.” However, most of the population resents the roadblocks but are unwilling to act for fear of retributions from LE. Average response time for 911 call is roughly 10 minutes.

Mission: Clear the roadblock at crossroads “Alpha” in order to demoralize the enemy and discourage them from manning roadblocks in the future.
Execution: (Up to you!)
Admin & Logistics: Also up to you. You have the following resources:

  • 4 shooters (including yourself)
  • 3 AR-15s, 1 Mosin Nagant, and 1,000 rounds of ammo for each
  • 2 pickup trucks, 1 mini-van, and 1 jeep
  • 2 Baofeng UV-5R radios
  • 1 PVS-14 NVG

Command and Signal: You are the team leader. Your comm plan is up to you. Remember to use a PACE plan.
Feel free to post your answers in the comments and discuss. Keep in mind, the more complicated a plan is, the more potential points of failure.

Spread the love

All four shooters will infiltrate up through the forest from the south east on a diagonal azimuth headed northwest at dark thirty on foot.
Point man has the NODs and an AR.
Middleman and his buddy have an AR/Mosin.
Mosin and AR buddy combo are Support By Fire.
In case Antifa/FLEAs forces are in the woods providing security and/or watching the Antifa, the Mosin will penetrate any trees they are hiding behind while the riflemen lay down suppressive fire.
Rear man, the team leader, has an AR.
Point man and Rear have the radios. Middle men wait to the word.
We move slowly, and carefully in a file. Recon and SLLS on the way in. No smoking/No Dip.
Bring all the AR ammo as possible, eat before you move out, one MRE and water. Mosin can carry 300 rounds.
We are going to shoot from the grey/brown forest peninsula below the green forest peninsula into the Northwest field to avoid shooting up the building located across the street from Checkpoint Alpha.
Diamond up at 300 meters in. Column at 150 meters.
We are going to select targets for the AR shooters from left to right by the man on the man.
Mosin focuses fire on vehicles and disables any vehicles they have with engine block shots, and scoot after one magazine from the AR’s, and the Mosin reloads.
AR men are pulling security waiting on the Mosin to reload while scanning for their effect on target or possible return fire from Antifa forces.
Exfil out the same direction immediately after Mosin completes reload.
It’ll take days for the police to figure out what happened.
Make sure all ammo is forensically clean during loading.
No ID’s, wallets, Pez dispensers, or playboys allowed.
And bring a 64 OZ empty bottle for Urine, you are packing your Urine out.
We don’t have time to sit there and recon the target because the police could fly a Chopper with FLIR overhead any minute.
Baofengs monitor local radio stations for possible update on the way out.

No Dip??? How about Cope Southern Blend?

      • Matt Bracken March 9, 2021 at 10:04

Half of the team quit when they heard “no dip.”
And half of the team that stayed are sneaking a can.

        • wwes March 9, 2021 at 10:20

Especially in the area in that picture, that’s tobacco country. And when they get home there is probably a quart jar waiting on them as well.

        • Johnny Paratrooper March 9, 2021 at 10:41

And then the State police show up, the FBI finds something the dogs are obsessed with. And it turns out to be a spit sample with a mostly intact DNA sample that leads them right to the crew, half of whom served in the military and their DNA is on file. Also, they forgot to wear masks, and were captured on trail cameras a half dozen times that send real time WIFI text messages to an app on farmer jim-bob’s cellular device.
Also, as Team Leader it is my responsibility to not follow my own rules. I’m bringing a 5th of Jack and a pack of Marlboro Reds. And my wife rings my phone off the hook the whole march there and back cause she’s jealous I shared a laugh with the cute cashier at Walmart two weeks ago.

Ha! Thanks for a good laugh. If I were in middle school, I would blown milk out of my nose.

Only if you add a splash of Jameson Irish Whiskey…

    • BePrepared March 9, 2021 at 11:15

I like this plan with only two points of clarification. What to do with the non-combatants in that single wide trailer is on the side of your infil/assault point and the house on the downrange side from you about 150 yds away to the NE? Granted there is a slight height difference from that intersection to that (NE) house, but you can’t really hope small pines will stop all that.
Infil/assault from the other side, NE to SE is complicated for the same reason.
As it looks to be a store used to be there on the left, I’d be willing to bet the big buzzy security light is still there and comes on at night so PVS might not be needed so much and target identification could be MUCH easier.

    1x vehicle as recce
    1x vehicle as pri aslt
Both vehicles staged north east of objective area
1x recce vehicle has + 3 minute lead on aslt
Recce vehicle clears CP. Establishes far side security to the west.
Aslt vehicle engages north to south
Recce engages west to east on the intersection
If recce gets compromised, aslt dismounts establish hasty SBF. Solve the problem from there.

  5. American Yeoman March 9, 2021 at 09:21

Do I understand that enemy strength is 12-15 onsite? 3-4 per shift x 3 shifts?
OR, are they rotated out by a force that arrives in time for “shift change” as needed? Makes a big difference.

A fifty-something-year-old farmer who lives three miles away is stopped in his old pickup truck at the Commie checkpoint on his way back from the Tractor Supply store. There are no stickers on his truck. He answers their questions tersely, poker-faces his way through it, and drives home.
He’s lived in this county his entire life, and he has hunted in or otherwise explored every field, stream and stand of woods in a five mile radius since he was a little boy. He knows who owns every parcel of land, and who owned it before them, and who works it on a contract basis, and where they live too. He’s been in almost every barn and farmhouse in that radius over the years, and knows everybody well, except for a couple of anti-social city types who moved onto a small “hobby farm” recently, meaning ten years ago. They’re not even farmers, they just keep a couple of horses and have city friends occasionally come visit, or so he hears. He wonders if they know the Communists at the checkpoint.
He knows he can walk all the way to the checkpoint crossroads and back in a couple of hours, almost all the while remaining in cover, or down in low streambeds, or creeping along fence lines where the weeds are high enough for cover this time of year. He knows without checking that the moon will set around three in the morning. He considered calling a close friend and hunting buddy, but decides to keep this one private, for their mutual safety and security. He can do this one alone, and none the wiser.
Next morning at oh-dark-thirty, he slips out of bed and changes into his hunting clothes in the barn, (which keeps them free of human scents), and takes his Marlin 336 30-30 lever action out for a walk. Because he sometimes takes game that is technically out of season, or not on property that is technically open for him to hunt, he knows how to retain his brass with a little cloth bag taped to the side of his rifle. Another poaching trick he has learned is to tie pieces of old horse blanket over his boots to obscure any footprints he might leave. There is nothing unusual about him out on the prowl, scouting out future hunting possibilities. He knows the area so well that the lack of moonlight means nothing to him. He could practically do this walk with his eyes closed.
Being extra careful, he takes a wide-around route, and arrives at a point on the edge of the woods 50 yards east from the crossroads an hour before dawn. He sees 4 people standing around a fire burning in an old steel drum, warming their hands and talking quietly. They are blinded to everything around them by their fire, and are totally oblivious to his presence. He decides not to wait until dawn, their fire is providing all the light he needs. His scope is already dialed all the way down to 3 power. He almost feels sorry for them, standing there unaware, 50 yards away, which looks like only 50 feet through his scope. But they are Communists, trying to Communize the whole country, and so he has absolutely no pity for them. He takes his time with the first shot, when he can line up two of them on opposite sides of the fire barrel, and drops them both, then takes the ones on the left and then the right. These last two are standing stock-still in total shock for all the time he needs. Dumber than deer, he muses.
He knows there might be more Commies still in sleeping bags, but being the cautious type, he doesn’t take it any further. Four is enough to make his point. He goes back home by a different route, thinking of the story he’ll tell his wife. But no matter what she hears in town or on the news, he knows 100% perfectly well that she’ll never breathe a single word about her suspicions.
    And she never does.

Here is the winner! Great story and solution. I favor the hunter mode every time. I had to look up PACE, cuz I was never in the military. Makes me realize I am lacking a lot of good tactical knowledge. My Pampaw who took me hunting from age five on, was a German farmer who moved to town and wound up with four Truck Stops. We hunted and fished every chance we got. I am learning I need to have a plan A,B,C, D, and E; but I have to stick to my roots and go slow and hunt.

Imagine trying to subdue a country with thousands of counties full of future Jack Hinsons.
Literally millions of them, already today with much longer-range rifles than the heavy-barrel iron-sight 50 caliber that old Jack had custom built as a one-off.
“Jack Hinson’s One Man War: The true story of one man’s reluctant but relentless war against the invaders of his country. A quiet, wealthy plantation owner, Jack Hinson watched the start of the Civil War with disinterest. Opposed to secession and a friend to Union and Confederate commanders alike, he did not want a war. After Union soldiers seized and murdered his sons, placing their decapitated heads on the gateposts of his estate, Hinson could remain indifferent no longer. He commissioned a special rifle for long-range accuracy, he took to the woods, and he set out for revenge. This remarkable biography presents the story of Jack Hinson, a lone Confederate sniper who, at the age of 57, waged a personal war on Grant’s army and navy. The result of 15 years of scholarship, this meticulously researched and beautifully written work is the only account of Hinson’s life ever recorded and involves an unbelievable cast of characters, including the Earp brothers, Jesse James, and Nathan Bedford Forrest.”

I am on my way to pick up the book! Found it at the local book exchange. Grew up in Waco and have been fascinated by the Texas Fight for Independence and the Civil War. Had a great Texas History teacher in Junior High. He told us amazing stories about Jim Bowie, and others.

Lifted 4 wheel drive van, slow down,no rifles pointed at me and see no others in surrounding sides of road, hit the gas!
Go to local car wash, opt for the undercarriage wash, and go back home.
OK,not taking it too seriously(at moment),the idea sadly brought a smile to me face, sad to even think this way, perhaps though, death if one does not have ideas on how to deal with these situations,
I would say if the police do not break up armed road blocks, tolerate them even though they are not putting out other fires/tied up,they to are a enemy.

  8. wwes March 9, 2021 at 10:15

I’ve spent time in the very woods around the intersection in that sat photo, those BLM/Antifa folks would be in deep trouble there. Lucky for our side that they didn’t do very good recon before setting that roadblock up :)

    • Mark. March 9, 2021 at 13:51

      That is central NC, piedmont.

      • wwes March 9, 2021 at 15:40

Correct, not far from Siler City. I have spent time working around that area.

    • Mike March 9, 2021 at 17:31

No kidding! I just zoomed in on a random spot on the map looking for a good rural intersection on moderately-trafficked roads. How about that.

      • wwes March 9, 2021 at 22:03

Yep! I figured it was just random chance that you picked that spot, but it still put a smile on my face when I read it this morning.

  9. Ensitue March 9, 2021 at 11:07

Use your vehicles to trace where the commies go to drink/smoke/get laid. do not use the same vehicle on consecutive days be aware of COINTEL observers and alot at least a month for this phase. take out commies when drunk.
Alternatively drop-off 3 shooters w/ARs and 120 rnds per gun at the east-west tree line south of the road block on Saturday night; use PU, oil all door hinges, door locks.
At dawn on Sunday follow wood line northerly until team is abreast of road block. Execute mission. Ex-fill NE through woods to Rd 1145 where the minivan will be waiting.
Change clothes before entering van. Ex-fill out of area, burn clothes, hide guns in creek as was pre-planned. Return team to general area of homes, they will in-fill on foot.

Not trying to steal the thunder away from this thread and the hopefully many to follow. I just want to throw light on something similar.
There is a card game called “Conflicted”. It’s a deck of cards and can be used as such. But on each card is a SHTF scenario question like the one above. They can be used solo, but the better use is with a group where everyone brainstorms how they would handle the situation.
It started with a single deck, but continued to eight decks and finally a board game. Each deck deals with a different aspect of the collapse. The titles of the decks are:
    1) Conflicted: Deck 1 – Downfall
    2) Conflicted: Deck 2 – Survival Scenarios
    3) Conflicted: Deck 3 – The New World Series
    4) Conflicted: Deck 4 – The Survivalist Series
    5) Conflicted: Deck 5 – Desolation
    6) Conflicted: Deck 6 – Nuclear Fallout
    7) Conflicted: Deck 7 – Financial Collapse
    8) Conflicted: Deck 8 – Conspiracy Deck
I have no affiliation with the company other than as a happy customer. It’s illuminating to sit around with a group while going through the scenarios. You can gain some valuable knowledge while learning about the people that you’re playing with.

Per the OPORer Enemy Paragraph, the EN is getting relieved every 8hours. That likely means their routine is fairly set in regards to route and number of vehicles utilized. Likely just one vehicle, two at most.
Although communist are not humans, they are people, which means the patterns are established and the route/time of travel is fairly set.
I would ambush the off-going ANTIFA crew in a location (terrain) and at a time of my choosing. The advantages are-after 8hrs they are tired and inattentive, they are a meat-massed target in one vehicle giving my fire a greater opportunity to inflict death and/or mayhem. I can create an obstacle or use a bend in the road to get them to slow down enough as to enhance the effects of my fire. They will likely be unable to effectively respond as they are exposed on a road and sitting in a soft skinned vehicle. Because it’s a planned ambush I can concentrate my forces in one location and maintain an effective span of control as well as recon that location in advance with little risk. If I need some early waring I can split one guy off 100-200 meters with a radio to give a heads up. KISS

    • Augusto Pinochet March 10, 2021 at 06:30

Communists are neither people or human; they are property of the collective. They’re meatsacks good for nothing but helicopter ballast or rifle range backstops.

I like Matt Bracken’s way of doing things: keep it simple, keep it quite. A hunting mindset. The Resister featured these types of scenario’s, dubing them moral decision games, and I found them enjoyable and thought provoking.

  14. D March 9, 2021 at 15:06

How did a rural community let this roadblock happen in the 1st place?

    • wwes March 9, 2021 at 15:38

He’s presenting the hypothetical scenario so we can practice planning how to counter it. Rural areas aren’t immune to things like this, contrary to what some people want to believe. BLM/Antifa/Redneck revolt are active in rural areas too…

    • Johnny Paratrooper March 9, 2021 at 17:55

Antifa doesn’t throw block parties on their street. They come to your neighborhood. This was a consistent theme all summer.
The also don’t burn down their neck of the woods. Again, see 2020 as a reference. This is how things go unfortunately.

  15. Michael March 9, 2021 at 16:18

I want to know the S4 and QS of this situation. The Sleep-Shit-Shower and Supper of this group as well as the wanna be local communist leadership Quisling Supporters that enabled this group to establish here.
A few plumbers candles and propane *might* get used up. DNA not an issue with care, surveillance cameras, you DID DO a site recon over the last few months prior to this “Trouble” yes? It IS your Back Yard dude…
Sharp end of the spear needs little attention, the Spear Shaft NEEDS to get BROKEN. The message to OTHER Wanna be local communist leadership as well as a *Gentle reminder* to any LE that feels a need to be ah inquisitive IS the Important Part.
Otherwise when the Antifa Fed Support shows up with all that fancy gear or worse sets up another “Road Block” for a Trap, the Local LE and their Commie Supporters will be ah less helpful.

  16. Dov Sar March 9, 2021 at 18:20

You don’t have the optional equipment in your list, but if you did: You get your tractor and manure sprayer, load it full of fresh hog crap, drive by the roadblock in the field, and direct your entire load on the road block. I think the stress of seeing roadblocks might make you forget where your manure is being sprayed, and I think the local sheriff would completely understand. If the USDA fines you, start a gofundme to pay your fines.

    • wwes March 9, 2021 at 21:57

There are a lot of broiler houses around there, all of that chicken litter HAS to go somewhere :)

  17. Shinmen Takezo March 9, 2021 at 21:57

Oh please Jesus, pretty please let ANTIFA set up road block as in this scenario.
    Talk about fun!
    What to do–hummmmmm?!
Sneak a couple of shooters into range 200 yards out–let go and make a couple ANTIFA heads explode for shits and giggles.
Let the ANTIFA goons crap their pants for a while and let them call in their cavalry on their Iphones–which assuredly will come roaring down the road in a few minutes of so (once they put down their bongs that is).
FREEFOR is lined up and waiting to unleash the ambush on THUGFOR cavalry coming in willy-nilly,huffed and puffed up ready to “kill some Nazis.” Text book setup on the ambush–exits blocked. Improvised IED’s set off unleashing such delicious pain. FREERO shooters drill ANTIFA vehicles with lead for two minutes then melt away into the bush.
Follow-up ANTIFA thugs arrive to mop up blood and corpses–final set of improvised IED’s are set off.
    End of happy story.

  18. Not fun or games March 9, 2021 at 22:34

The roadblock purpose is to show/claim control and find their opposition. Like a hydra cutting one part off will grow two. As much as I love Bracken the next day there would be three roadblocks with four hour crew changes ignored by the police who are looking for the old man on trail, security and drone camera.
Defeat their purpose. Litter, piles of tires in ditches, more Marxist and anarchy graffiti to turn off the population. Sell, give them the local rotgut to keep them drunk or stoned on duty. The local meth head will be along soon and rip off issued equipment. Anyone who is working for or with them is a target or asset.
When they get set to reeducation for failing to satisfy their leadership, their supervisors will show up. The next bunch might make the mistake of getting too violent with the formally supporting leftists. If they harm the blue family then they will break that bond on an individual level.

    • Matt Bracken March 10, 2021 at 07:13

Respectfully, I think you are wrong. These Antifas are not Serbs or Turks, they are “Woke” American city punks. They are only effective in cities where the mayors and DAs are on their side, and the police are themselves handcuffed. Take away that protection, and they are just punks you would laugh at when they are not wearing black bloc and full masks.
The survivors of the initial checkpoint attack will flee, the local sheriff will privately applaud the farmer, the investigation will be perfunctory. Do you think the local sheriff will support and defend the right of Communist city trash to set up armed checkpoints in his county, threatening his kin at gunpoint? If they attempted another checkpoint, next time the attack might be from 1,000 yards. The next time it might be a fertilizer IED under a culvert. Every farmer I know is well familiar with how to remove stumps the fast way. Vehicles full of strangers will be ambushed on twists and when passing through woods. One person with an AR is enough for an ambush. The FBI will be far too busy putting out fires in cities and suburbs to even investigate 4 city trash Communist being shot. Any strange black tinted-window SUVs will run the same risk as vans full of Antifa.
There has never in recorded human history been a successful attempt at imposing a totalitarian dictatorship upon a country with more privately owned guns than people, with a strong hunting and military service culture, and literally tens of millions 500+ yard scoped deer rifles, just to mention one category. Imagine trying to subdue a nation with millions of 500+ yard Jack Hinsons. This is a fundamental game changer.
We all know that Switzerland has not been invaded from outside because of its love of freedom and gun culture. It has also never been taken over from within by a tyrant. There is a lesson to be found there.

      “Lay down your arms
Come out with your hands up
      You got 15 minutes
…..if you comply you must leave the county immediately along with your family; never to return….failure to comply means you will be taken into the county seat, and burned alive in the town square along with your family members….no quarter!”

I’d have my best shot with the rifle/jeep/nvg/radio in the woods on the far side of the clearing about 11:00 off 2745, set up in the dark with clear view of the checkpoint.
I’d have the rest off road to ambush the earliest shift change about 1/4 mile from the checkpoint.
Once the ambush is sprung and vehical is stopped I’d radio the lone sniper to harass the checkpoint since they’ll be looking in that direction. The checkpoint is held by the sniper and if they leave he radios us and we set up another hasty ambush. If they stay at the cp, the sniper bugs out to the jeep at the ending of the ambush.
If the cp pursues the sniper. The ambush presses the assault to the cp.

Couple days before “it”, I go fishing at the pond to the east on 1145. I approach from the east and return that way. In my old 70 model pickup. Day of I drive up Siler Road from the south. Stopped at checkpoint. Where you going? Fishing over there, points down 1145 while looking around. Finds nothing so GTF on your way. Pull in to the pond, fish a bit and then show the youn’ins the stash. Fill in the youn’ins. They say thanks for the info, MREs and ammo. They go kill those guys. I go home eastward on 1145 with my fish. I’m too old and sick to TRY to run and gun. I CAN supply ammo, food and info pretty well. They can de ass the area a lot faster without me dragging along. There is a use for all if you just think. Too old to spend money on new car/ iphones/Carharts. I just spend on things that someone might need. I can still manage to figure out what info those young folk need to do their job. .

How about just some good ole fashioned harassment without intent? You know a welcome to the neighborhood kinda thing. Easy in easy out and may be without coon hounding that spilling will surely get ya. Rinse and repeat if necessary. Hows that mossin at lobbing em in from the next county?

I want simplicity, speed, and a short duration since we haven’t trained before. We only have two radios, so I want two teams.
Team 1 (T1) will will be solo, with the Mosin in the treeline, due north of Alpha. Team 2 (T2) will be the 3 ARs and on foot will enter the dense woods to the east of Alpha and maneuver as close as possible without being detected, deploying on line at 15-20ft intervals facing the target. T1 will notify me when he’s in position and ready. He will fire on my command, selecting targets at his discretion based on any intel I can provide.
I will assess the reaction of the neo-brownshirts and direct T2 to move to the edge of the treeline by Alpha, and – on my command – firing rapidly on the targets. Any attempt to flee by vehicle, and T2 will focus fire until the vehicle is disabled. If they take cover at the checkpoint, I will will direct T2’s fire. If all of the idiots are neutralized, I will radio T1 to cease fire and withdraw. T2 will do a quick sweep of the area to ensure no healthcare resources will be wasted in the near future.
In case of a firefight, T2 will alternate firing 2-3 rounds from cover until I direct them to withdraw while I provide covering fire. We will not pursue those who escape on foot or vehicle, and we will not enter any structures. We have 10 minutes from the first shot until LE arrives, so I want our last shot fired NLT 5 minutes after the first. The 5th mag is for withdrawal. We don’t have time (or money) to burn through 1K rounds with ARs.
All vehicles will be parked in isolated locations (T1 to the North, T2 to the East), off of paved roads and preferably under tree cover. You don’t want your vehicles IDed. Sure LE may not be sympathetic to Antifa, but they’re gonna be under a lot of pressure from people who are. You also know you haven’t been PTing, so make sure you’ve reconned a parking spot that’s about 3-4 minutes away at what a fast run is for you today.

  26. Nopal Muncher March 11, 2021 at 15:16

Two weeks before main mission, make twice-daily or so noise for a week in the woods to the northwest and observe the reaction. If daytime doesn’t get them nervous, use NVG and do it at night, too. Try to identify as many enemy vehicles as possible. The week before, make just a little noise on two random days from the same place. In case they come to investigate, clean the area each time, and use different cars, parking at least a mile away. In case the route to the car is blocked, have an alternate rally point where you can call for a pickup, and have the first car leave.
Verify the number of enemies before each phase of this mission, in case they send one as a scout. If discovered, send a surreptitious signal and have an alibi to talk out of it. In case the battle begins, have an escape car with ammo ready in addition to the car in which the noise team arrived.
On the last noise day two days or so before, preferably while noise is happening as above, hide caches of ammo in the southwest and southeastern woods, a total of four caches, containing any ammo not carried on the day of the assault, two within half a mile, and two at least half a mile from the target. These will be for contingencies, and should be forensically cleaned in case they can’t be retrieved immediately after the mission.
Then, on the big day, assemble in the southeastern wooded area after midnight and decide where to place the three-man fire team: east, southeast, or west of the target. The sniper is more flexible and can in addition to those positions have the option of taking overwatch in the northeast (preferred) or west-northwest to achieve better monitoring of the *45 dogleg roads and/or the main road. Avoid positions that would lead to friendly fire, but try to achieve overlapping fire.
At first light, when all are in position, let the sniper begin the assault at range, and then have the other team open fire from cover at 100 yards. Do not attack their vehicles until they begin to flee, so that they do not feel the need to make a last stand, but other equipment is fine. If they entrench themselves and achieve effective cover from our fire, abort mission and withdraw if there is more than one remaining; enemy reinforcements are likely en route. Save yourself to fight another day.
For sure enemies will have cameras; cover, remove, or use false license plates and wear masks to avoid identification. Have extra clothes and ammo in the cars as well as in the caches. Use brass catchers. For an alibi in case you get caught by Antifa before the mission, have other hunting gear too and build that reputation beforehand.

    Interesting scenario.
    Two comments:
This location is just north of Bennett NC, about 11 miles from Siler City and maybe 25 miles from the County seat, Pittsboro.
The questions that follow are ALL answerable by searching online, and all ones I would want to know the answers to as part of my pre-mission intel gathering. It took me about two hours using Startpage to anonymously search the net for answers to the following questions:
How many sheriff’s department offices are there in Chatham County? Where are they?
What is the nearest adjacent County to the roadblock and how far is it from the roadblock site?
What is the nearest Interstate highway interchange?
What frequencies and communication types does the Chatham Sheriff’s department use? Can the Baofeng UV-5r receive those frequencies?
What other LE radio frequencies are in use in Chatham County?
What is the nearest Chatham County repeater/radio tower(s) to the roadblock?
What are the two brown structures/entities to the NW of the roadblock?
What is the elevation of the road at point Alpha, and how does the ground trend to the E and W of that point?
I’ll let folks try this for the themselves, then post my answers tomorrow.
With regard to all who seek the Light,

How many sheriff’s department offices are there in Chatham County? Where are they?
One, in Pittsboro. https://www.chathamcountync.gov/government/departments-programs/sheriff-s-office links to
      https://www.chathamsheriff.com
What is the nearest adjacent County to the roadblock and how far is it from the roadblock site?
Randolph County, less than half a mile to the West of point Alpha; see mytopo.com
What is the nearest Interstate highway interchange?
Hard to say in time or mileage; I73 is the closest, to the west about 15 air miles and probably 25+ by road to any of the 4 interchanges between Star and Seagrove
What frequencies and communication types does the Chatham Sheriff’s department use? Can the Baofeng UV-5r receive those frequencies? CCSD runs on narrowband analog fm which should be readable by a Baofeng, one on UHF in the 155 mhz range and 5 on the 450-470 mhz range both of which the Baofeng will tune.
What other LE radio frequencies are in use in Chatham County?
There are three VIPER (Apco25 trunked systems) installations in Chatham County (800 mhz) that the Baofengs will not receive; State Police runs an 800 mHz digital trunked system and a 42 mhz analog legacy system neither of which the Baofeng will tune.
What is the nearest Chatham County repeater/radio tower(s) to the roadblock?
      9586 SILER CITY GLENDON RD
What are the two brown structures/entities to the NW of the roadblock?
One appear to be a shipping container and the other is an agricultural shed with a shed roof.
What is the elevation of the road at point Alpha, and how does the ground trend to the E and W of that point?
By linear interpolation of the 10′ topo contours, about 497′; the intersection at point Alpha is in a slight depression compared to terrain to both E and W . The woods to the immediate E are on a slight rise, perhaps 4 to 6 feet above ditch elevation; high point is about 50 meters from the road. the road running to the west has a high point about 100 meters away. N/S the road runs downhill both directions.
A willingness to do what must be done to resist communist tyranny does not make “screw it, let’s do it!” a plan. Know the battlefield in all respects, physical, electronic, and moral. PPPPPP. If I were going to take this op on, I would plan at least a 2 day 24/7 recon of Point Alpha, get a count and ID of all the OPFOR personnel, get an idea of the CCSD and NCSP patrol schedule and activity with a view toward avoiding any confrontations with LEO. We are few, and we cannot afford casualties, either to our people on the sharp edge, or to our reputation.
      Questions:
-why did Antifa pick this spot? are there sympathizers living in one of the three adjacent homes? A thorough recon would determine that.
-what LOS radio communication does Antifa typically use in operations?
-What is the cell coverage like at this location?

      • wwes March 13, 2021 at 12:32

Doing a thorough recon should be considered a requirement. It’s been a while since I have traipsed around those fields, but I would guess that the structure that looks like a shipping container is probably a bulk tobacco barn, they are everywhere around that area. A good recon would give a definite answer on that. Another part of knowing your AO and the people in it, there is a farmer within a few miles of that intersection who happens to have a radio in his truck that can access the VIPER network, and who is definitely 100% on Team Freedom. Resources like that, if available, are wonderful things to have.

So many ways to skin a cat. Excellent idea to do this and in this way. I’ll not flaunt my tactical ignorance but I have concerns about drones. That fixed position might be a tougher nut to crack than expected.

  29. NoName March 11, 2021 at 21:43

What measures can be taken against drone equipped opposition?

    • wwes March 12, 2021 at 09:52

That would depend a lot on what kind of tools the drone is carrying- do they just have cameras and/or video equipment, thermal, etc?

    • Mike March 12, 2021 at 19:36

The same sort of measures that can be taken against enemy security patrols. Drones are not fully autonomous, they are piloted by humans, and humans are creatures of habit. Careful study of enemy drone activity will eventually reveal patterns (flight schedule, route, flight duration/battery life, etc.), which you can then use to your advantage. Remember, you’re defeating a drone operator, not a drone.

      • NoName March 16, 2021 at 08:01

Good point that they are not autonomous. There’s two different aspects to consider. One is against surveillance during any scouting and prepositioning and the other during an active situation. Spotting is a third issue yet. There are probably range issues with the more likely smaller ones. I know nothing about them, being old school and generally unhappy about fancy technology, but at the same time not adverse to a little healthy fear. I’ve seen scant mention of countermeasures except a brief reference to blinding one with a small handheld laser unit or something like that. If I remember correctly that was a fairly close range encounter at a protest of some sort. The human operators are fallible but the units themselves must have limitations and weaknesses too.

  30. Ingot9455 March 21, 2021 at 16:34

No matter all your other tactical plans you will need to:
    1. arrange your alibi – the location and activity where you all were together doing the operation – playing a boardgame of your choice like Monopoly or Settlers of Cataan as the people do these days.
    2. Leave your cellphones and similar contact devices that record your location in that location so after-action research on the part of the bad guys leads them to confirm your alibi.
    3. Use vehicles that do not give away your continuous location – nothing with modern OnStar or similar packages – and that are not trackable to the alibi location. You might need to ‘sacrifice’ one individual for this as the driver who just happens to pick you up from the alibi zone where you conceal yourself in his vehicle and drop you off in the exfil zone as a part of his normal activities. His vehicle will be trackable on license plate cameras, yours will just show that you drove to the alibi zone and hung out.
As for the actual op; I would be taking pictures of the bad guys as they depart and arrive on their shift changes; then look them up with facial recognition software on Facebook and similar pages. Tail them home once, twice, use radios to set an ambush along the route at the third rep.

    Here’s my thoughts:
Most Antifa brats are not self sufficient. They may have jobs as a barrista or some service position but a large number of them are dependent on family members. Usually Mommy. Mommy with a bank account. Mommy with a credit card. That makes Mommy
a logistics center. THAT’S your target. Don’t hit them when they are armed and grouped together. Hit them at home. Hit whoever is feeding them, housing them, washing their clothes. Find how they are surviving and strike there.
Tell them it’s courtesy of Minneapolis.

  32. Alex Lund May 11, 2021 at 11:55

    My try:
I will not hit the roadblock.
We will scout out the route the Antifa is taking to reach the roadblock and return home.
We look for a spot where the street is bounded on at least one side by woods and where you can see in both directions and make sure no one else is on the street. Early morning or early evening are preferred.
Everybody wears clothes he can throw away and masks and gloves.
The guy with the Mosin will be on the opposite side of the street in hiding. The three guys with the AR-15 are on the side of the street where Antifa is driving.
When Antifa drives home we erect a big swastika flag on a pole if no one else is on the road for a certain distance..
This will make them angry and dismount.
Once they dismount we open fire.
Everybody gets at least five shoots.
Then we collect them, rip or cut their clothes off and drag them at least one kilometer into the woods.
There we cut them and remove the bullets from them (Three letter agency will open a bottle of champagne if they find the bullets). The animal predators will find them and do the rest.
