When I first went into the military in 1988, one of the greatest aviation threats we feared, if we went to war with Russia, was the Mi-24 “Hind-D” helicopter. There were many reasons, but chief among them were its ability to not only bring an attack helicopter’s armaments to bear on lightly armed, highly mobile troops, but also its ability to carry a squad’s worth of troops to drop off and engage you on the ground after the Hind and its wingman had fixed you into a defensive position.

Helo’s and drones are the greatest air threat to a small element of fighters. Plan accordingly.
