245 Years Later, Long Guns are Still The Life Blood of the Armed Patriot Citizen, by TX2Guns

It occurred to me this morning (July 3rd) while preparing my coffee and sitting down to work on a few writing projects that America at present is at a crossroads much like our Founding Fathers were some 245 odd years ago.

Like those brave men in the Continental Congress, we now at present face a similar tyrannical system of Government that is clearly not interested in individual liberties anymore. At every turn it seems this Government seeks to deny us, the American Citizen the rights afforded to us in the Constitution and Bill of Rights to “Keep and Bear Arms.” If you have been paying attention this past year it seems obvious that semi-automatic rifles like the AR-15 are the focus of their despotic disarmament scheme more than any other type of weapon. But why is this?

“That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants.” -Colonel Jeff Cooper

History clearly shows that a populace armed with rifles stands a much better chance than one armed with handguns and an ill temper. This is why there is such a push at the highest levels of government to go after rifles, because an armed civilian populace SCARES them!

Gun control as many of you know comes in many forms and guises, but the most despicable form is the “Practical, Common Sense” approach. This type of control is most often now seen in Firearms Training articles predominantly authored by current or ex-Law Enforcement Officers.

Case in point: this article which seeks to use the John Hurley shooting a week ago as a reason for civilians to NOT carry rifles in their vehicles for self-defense because a nervous cop may shoot them thinking they are the bad guy!

Now the irony of this story is that Hurley killed the murdering perp with his legal concealed carry pistol. Hurley was then shot by a responding officer because he (Hurley) had picked up the perp’s AR-15 most likely thinking there were still active multiple shooters and was then mistaken for the shooter by the police and subsequently shot and killed.

Clearly there is a LOT to learn from this tragedy, namely what the armed civilian needs to do AFTER the perp is down and police are responding, but telling civilians to NOT carry a long gun in their car because they may be shot by Law Enforcement is NOT a good piece of advice!

The rifle will always be the LIFE BLOOD of the patriot citizen! It is the instrument by which we protect both ourselves and our freedoms from a tyrannical government.

Organizations like the NRA CMP and Project Appleseed were designed to ENSURE future generations never forget the importance of riflemanship for the every day citizen!

So this July 4th Independece Day take some time to reflect on the FOUNDATIONAL TRUTH that Rifle Ownership and Riflemanship are not only SACRED RIGHTS afforded to us by the Constitution and BIll of Rights but also a SACRED DUTY of the Armed Civilian!

Stay Alert, Armed and Dangerous!

    Happy Birthday America!
I hope for a better future for the country while trying to also be ready for harder times.

Excellent Tx , I would point out that the Constitution merely puts in writing our right to keep and bear arms. The Constitution was intended by the states to grant powers to the federal government and all natural rights were ones we already had as a free people. The second and other amendments were simply put there to remind the federal government that there are lines they cannot cross. Somewhere along the line folks seem to have forgotten that we the people grant certain powers to the government, not the other way around.

Our Constitution put it in writing, true, but the Bible, explaining Gods word, alludes to that very fact in numerous places. Stating that citizens should sell their clothes & buy arms. Or words to that effect. And since our nation was founded on principles that are taught by the Bible, and Christianity in general, is it any wonder the 2nd, and now the 1st are so hotly contested?

I believe it was SFC Berry who first asked the question (paraphrasing it, as I do not have the exact quote) : “How exactly has the Second Amendment prevented communists from infiltrating and taking over every institution and agency?” The marxists began the “long march through the institutions” long before we were born, and through inter-generational focus, have pretty much completed their goals.
Now, to many “conservatives” believe they are going to vote Trump back in, in 2024, and he will save America; sorry that is not going to happen. In the time it has taken to read the article, another 50-100 illegals have crossed our borders, and many will be given free rides, by the leftists in power, to places all over the country, put on various programs, and moved into your neighborhoods. The Great Replacement is underway, that is a demographic reality, and so it will be with “voting”. While our people have been told to party hard and shop till they drop, the people hungry for power have worked overtime for decades.
As for the AR question, the AR-15 IS the Second Amendment. “The beauty of the Second Amendment, is that you won’t need it until they try to take it away” – Thomas Jefferson
Finally, an observation: “The great questions of the day will not be settled by means of speeches and majority decisions…but by Iron and Blood” Otto von Bismarck

Re: “I believe it was SFC Berry who first asked the question (paraphrasing it, as I do not have the exact quote) : “How exactly has the Second Amendment prevented communists from infiltrating and taking over every institution and agency?”
The Second Amendment and the RTKBA is necessary to liberty, but insufficient alone to protect it. Obviously, no tool – of any kind – can do its job unless the individual in question is willing, able and qualified to use it. Owning firearms no more makes one a rifleman than owning a piano makes one a musician. And regardless of skill, absent the will to use it, it might as well be absent in the first place. Kenneth Royce, a.k.a. “Boston” of the famous “Boston’s Gun Bible” makes much the same point in his books.
Leaving that aside for the moment, the bearing of arms is what is known as an “all-or-nothing” response. The communists have been very astute in enacting their 100-year long “march through the institutions” of the U.S.A. by employing incrementalism. Individual acts which, by themselves and seen in isolation, may not rise to the level of actionable offenses against the people of this country, but which in aggregate, have managed to see them win victory-after-victory. Which is why I made that comment: The 2A isn’t enough to protect liberty by itself. People must be willing to fight for it, and struggle to protect it, via other means – the vast majority of which do not involve kinetic warfare.
Obviously, closing the door to the horse’s stall after it has left the barn is where the people of this country now find themselves. Which is now why they may find out the hard truth of why the Founders gave us the 2A in the first place. It is tragic and unnecessary that it should have come so far, but that’s how I see it. Our gravest failing as a people – I am speaking of Americans over the last 80-100 years – is that we got too complacent, too comfortable, and didn’t love liberty enough. Ronald Reagan was certainly right about that. Liberty – freedom -must be fought for every single generation, or it risks being lost.
If enough people of common sense and decency speak out, despite the lateness of the hour, it may not be too late to avoid the worst -provided cooler heads and sounder minds prevail. As Sun Tzu said, the best way to “win” a war is to find a way not to fight it in the first place.

Hmm… I’d wager it’s rather past time for Plan B.

Your words, friend, not mine. And what “plan B” would that be? Be careful what you wish for – you might just get it.

The real question now is, who is willing to be the first martyr?

There seems to be a lot of parallels between what happened then and what is happening now.
    Well done.

Hayden sounds like a damn war zone! People have spent stupid money on fireworks. To celebrate what???
Our corrupt election? Or maybe they are celebrating gas that now costs $3.25 a gallon when it was $1.99 a gallon before China Joe was inaugurated. I heard that someone about 2 blocks south of us spent about $2,000.00 on fireworks! That’s really stupid. That fool could have bought a decent firearm and a case of ammo for that money. We are a nation of fools! I thought Idahoans would be smarter than this. I am discouraged. I see nothing to celebrate this 4th of July.

Take your bullshit attitude on somewhere.

      • SOG July 5, 2021 at 10:41

        here here!
spending money, getting outside and blowing fireworks is finger in the face of the man telling you to shelter in place and live in fear, the kind of folks spending 2k on fireworks booze and meat for the grill are not hurting for ammo and gun money.
people getting out and spending money of fireworks to me is a physical and psychological representation of the rebellious spirit we have as Patriots and that there are really more of US than them.

    • James July 5, 2021 at 10:50

X,who is to say folks who were shooting off fireworks do not also have firearms and ammo?I get if they did not have any preps/firearms ect. the money could have been better spent, but feel they are ready and just want to celebrate the good in this country, including the right to buy a AR and ammo.
I also celebrated with some fireworks, just fun to party on the countries birthday and remind others they are not alone in their love of the country despite it’s warts.

Currently reading “The Fourth Turning by William Strauss & Neil Howe. The cycles of history and the generations of man are not precise but predictable, just as Summer follows Spring and Winter follows Fall the times of generational man are destined to repeat. We have entered a new era and it’s apex is approaching, America needs to brace for impact because Winter is coming…

Meanwhile the fbi announced they have reached the milestone of 500 people incarcerated in a special jail in DC used for political prisoners of the January 6th gathering of Trump supporters . The guards are all specially picked savage leftists that are abusing and torturing those retired veterans, grandma’s and other such conservative activists with trials being delayed even into 2022 per Tom Z of We The People Convention a political group here in the Buckeye .
