Good conversation on knives on the podcast. Most informative. Have been a knife guy for many years, have carried a Randal model 14 on my LCE since the 70’s and carry a 3 inch model 10 everyday at the ranch. I do like Trace Rinaldis work, good design and steel, carry one of his somedays as well. A quality knife is indispensable.

Randall knives are very cool, I’d like to add some to my collection one day.

Bob Dozier makes some really good stuff. I have one of his K11 Skinners. Nice thing about Dozier is you can order and get one in a couple weeks….

I played with a TOPS knife this weekend. It was one of their flagship knives. And while it is pricey, I would surmise it is worth every penny.
That thing did work on some roots, a few thick vines, and I even used to to do some weeding.
Passed every test with flying colors and was still sharp.

They’ve got some designs I wouldn’t mind trying. I like the mini-scandi, black rhino, Dragonfly and Idaho hunter myself. The black rhino looks very similar to the Habilis Bushtool, yet they don’t mention any of the unique capabilities of a knife design like that on tops website.

This was the blade. Though it wasn’t the exact model. This is 99% accurate. This thing would pass the 2×4 test no problem.

That thing is a beast, I bet a recurve that big would be pretty hard to beat.

I have never bought a quality knife before. K-Bars and gas station specials for me. I suppose we are approaching the H-hour.

I rushed out to Ace today to get o-rings for a shower mixer. Even forgot my little Leek clip. Felt naked having nothing.

“Testicles, spectacles, wallet, watch and knife.” Sounds corny but I say it in my head when I’m heading out the door.

ESEE knives are top of the line with the best warranty in the industry. I’m a bit biased because they’re made in my hometown, in Idaho but they are impressive!
