The next class for Green Dragon Academy requires a “Green Dragon Student” tier to attend.
If you decide to become a member of GDA, please send me an email and tell me what your Patreon name is so that I may add you to the master email list.
Currently, we are using Zoom at https://zoom.us/signin for our classroom experience.
This process, while a bit complicated, provides a degree of digital security for our students by jumping around on different platforms. So that no single platform has all our information.
I understand and am familiar with the basic threats from Zoom, and other such platforms.
A private browser, using Firefox, and a VPN will hide nearly 100% of your digital footprint.
Green Dragon Academy is in the foundational phase of building. We are working out various methods, and will improve with time. We are still working out the kinks.
Again, If you would like to join us for class, please select the “Green Dragon Student” tier to receive the email link for the Zoom Classroom.
Currently, we are teaching a classes on Land Navigation and Map Reading and will be switching to Combat Patrols, Battle Drills, and various tips and tricks using the Ranger Handbook, USMC Infantry and Scouting Manual, and Infantry Manual for the American Partisan.
We are going to cover topics like

  • Taking out an enemy bunker.
  • Counter-Sniper Operations and separating fact from fiction
  • how to properly conduct a simple and complex ambush.
  • Troop leading procedures, Mission Planning, and how to prepare for various attacks, raids, and ambushes.
  • Special Equipment required for these missions
  • What mission types will be run against G-Force.
  • What a Big Army is capable of relative to a Small G-Force.
  • How a Big Army moves.

The classroom environment is an excellent and affordable way to learn new skill theories and to sharpen skills you may have already learned in various other classes or during your military service.
We are going to start at the beginning and build a foundation of knowledge and then move to maneuvers.

  • This will begin with basic formations; Like a football playbook.
  • And we will move to more complex ideas.
  • The purpose of this is to inform our students of what enemy forces will do and will not do and what friendly forces should do and should not do.

Currently, Madman Actual, and I, Johnny Paratrooper, are shopping for a new computer to provide our students with a better resolution and sound quality. Although, I have been told the sound is quite good, but the video quality could be improved.
We are also going to purchase access to some other learning tools, but we have not decided which ones yet, and, of course, we have not had time to familiarize ourselves with the user interface.
Most likely, we will stick to the current format we have because it is simple and not overly complex or technical.
I used Zoom for 18 months in college and it works quite well. I see little reason to switch platforms.
Thanks for reading! And I hope to see you in class.

A NODs class would also be great. Both weapons mounted as well as helmet mount with attention to zeroing. How to do it without scaring the beejesus out of the neighbors after dark.

    • Johnny Paratrooper September 25, 2021 at 09:53

I am going to talk about NODs in the Weapons and Equipment Field Maintenance class.

Maybe…binders of these class’s could be for sale down the road.
Looks and sounds like Excelllent stuff.
Some of us will never(can never) make the Digi leap.
    For any number of reasons.
Many of you were concieved of silicon, ones and zero’s and have no problem with this shtuff.
    And some of us…..well
    Weeee’z Analog.
    Don’t dismiss analog.
We still MIL Targets, Memorize and Write Down DOPE and “Zen” the wind. Along with afew other neat tricks learned from Doing.
    Anyhow.
Keep up the Great stuff here.

I am worried if I make materials available then no one will come to class. Or even look at the material. The cost of the materials, because of scale and shipping, would be nearly the same price as coming to class. The classroom environment is significantly more informative.
For instance, my Land Navigation students know that their maps are inaccurate in half a dozen ways.

      Chris,
If possible, I’m going to make my own binder (of sorts) with the Atlas and topo maps, notes, and other documents as the classes go on. I would never remember everything presented otherwise. Also helps me to have a manifest to refer to later, since I’m gonna be too ignorant to know what questions to ask up front. I’ve done something similar with other online courses. Zoom is actually pretty easy to use once you’ve gone through it once or twice. Good luck.

I have no problem with people taking screen shots and making their own binders. The material is 70-80% from Field Manuals and Technical Manuals.
The rest is some tips and tricks MMA and I have learned along the way.

Years ago there was the video of people over seas doing drills on improvised on and off ramps like we have here. Now we have had plane loads of males brought here after dark. An army out of uniform, trained for years with real world skill sets. And are very used to living outdoors. Makes you want to reconsider the homeless in some of these cities. Then you have AMERICAN’S who aid and shelter them. Local could get interesting.

Lets go Partisans- time to pony up. You’ll get more out of this subscription than your cable bill which is probably 5x the cost. Join the winning team. Build practical skills. Pass them on. You wont find anything like this anywhere else on the internet. Get in on the ground floor- sky is the limit.

    • Johnny Paratrooper September 27, 2021 at 17:33

They don’t want to learn the “other stuff”.
I could write a Glock article tomorrow and get 2,000 hits.
Probably 10,000 by the end of the week.
We are gonna go over TTPs, Patrols, formations… all the cool stuff.
This is important stuff because when you are done this next batch of classes, you’ll be able to look at a point element for an enemy force and know what’s behind it.
Which means you’ll know what’s coming.
Which means you can tell your buddies a few orders, and everyone will fall in, and execute the plan of action.
There is a little bit more to this then running around the woods with guns and having some fun.

JP, will there be more repeats of the Land Nav course?

    • Johnny Paratrooper September 27, 2021 at 22:51

The next class is Land Navigation on the 8th of October.
MMA and I are going to create a course of classes and we will rotate through them.
Like a readiness train up cycle the military uses.
We will cycle back to land Navigation sometime around spring or summer.
However, we will perform mock raids, ambushes, or recon missions.
This will involve performing mock land navigation using atlases, Google maps, satellite imagery, and topographic maps.
When a new soldier or marine joins the military and gets placed in a unit, they could get placed into a unit in the beginning, middle, or end of a training cycle.
This is good training. I have already learned a lot just going over MGRS and LAT/LONG maps.
      Stuff I didn’t know 6 weeks ago.

  6. BisonBurger September 28, 2021 at 12:17

Will the video presentations and other online material be available afterwards for re-watching?
    Thank you

    • Johnny Paratrooper September 28, 2021 at 15:54

They will not be. This is an interactive experience. Consider this like a Research and Development program. But for people who want to be qualified Guerrilla fighters capable of resisting a big army (like China invading) or an insurrection (like Russia in 1917)
My goal is for Green Dragon Students to stand out from others. To be the guy you want on your team. To have effective, rational, and reasonable tactical, technical, and procedural standards and knowledge.
Posting a youtube video negates and nullifies those goals.
