Super Container Cargo Ship Killer?
A few bolt on modifications, and a super container cargo ship is as effective as a carrier for 1/50th the cost.

FYI, those missile pods that look like they only hold one missile could hold up to six or eight missiles.
And be reloaded by robotics in under a minute under the deck.
Depending on the type.
There could be torpedo launchers too.

  Back in the 60’s I believe, the US Navy ordered 6 Pegasus Class Hydrofoils.
  Interesting design. They where used in Vietnam, and as time passed, besides
  drug contraband interceptors, and I think too in the Grenada rescue.
  They where taken off line soon after that.

    There is a new class of aircraft that fly’s off the surface of the water and uses the ground effect to maintain higher amounts of lift compared to a regular bird.
    And they can be parked anywhere on the water, refit, and redeployed. They have no trouble moving at 300-400 miles per hour.
    I imagine these will be an effective hit and run weapon of the 21st century. Once the old men in charge realize their high tech WW2 style military is largely useless.

The question of high-speed stability:
The technology is decades old and well-proved.
.
This is verified by a few dozen high-speed ferries built in Australia by Incat since about 1995 or so.
They are engineered for about 40knts, although one variant for Brazil holds a speed record at around 58knts.

These are their workaday design sustained speeds toting hundreds of vehicles plus a thousand passengers, not an empty sprint in ideal conditions.

Another builder of similar high-speed ferries is in Louisiana.

Unfortunately, the retired Incat high-speed leased by the USNavy was retired a second time, and used for humanitarian missions around Arabia.
The mohammadan fanatics of Yemen shot specialized missiles into it, severely damaging the aluminum structure.
