Bypassing the federal diplomatic systems and attacking the ideologically defenseless state and local layers of governance as well as universities and media is genius, evil genius.
If there is a purpose to the federal level of governance in the United States, and that’s a big if, then one of its roles, perhaps its primary role in this propaganda drenched age, should be a transparent choke point for all foreign investment in these United States, to act as a protective barrier against foreign government sponsored subversion of our society. This “barrier” is not without its implementation issues, but we must adjust to the evolving tactics of the enemy.
