LA Riots Documentaries
Notice how this all looks so familiar?
That’s because they are using a formula.
Enjoy.

BTDT. I was stationed out at MCAS El Toro (before BRAC) when this went down. We all looked on in jealousy as the Black Hawks from Pendleton flew over us to go Downtown. Watched live as Reginald Denny got his beat down, walked out and watched the brown haze over LA turn black from the fires.
Yeah… looks real damn familiar.
Yikes. I was in the middle of Baltimore when the Riots broke out. While not covered as widely, and certainly there were not nearly as many cases of looting and arson, the entire city exploded into a crime spree. I mean literally every square inch was a crime scene. As soon as the clock struck 4:30 pm; It was a giant crime spree. I couldn’t believe it.
Probably a decade ago now, my then HS aged step-daughter asked me why grandpa and I always took them shooting (when they didn’t want to go) , bought all this food we couldn’t eat (FD) and always went camping. I said, “when you really want to sit down and talk about it, we will”.
She did one night, and I put on that last video and said, “because one day, when that happens in nine or ten major cities, I want you to know something more than how to make eggs, text and mow the yard.” To her teenage credit, she made it about an hour into the video then proclaimed, “it’s the same thing over and over”, I said “yes, but…” then opened Google Earth to show her the distances of the news… and everything burning or WROL in the middle. (Rooftop Koreans WTF!)
Video is a small lens on a big world. When you can smell it, taste it and not look away from it… the “world” is quite different.
History repeats itself again, literally. It’s good to see the familiar faces; (Maxine Waters, Jesse Jackson), hear the same chants, and the same excuses. I agree on the formulaic hypothesis. Get ready Minnesota!
