Damn dude…that stirs the heartstrings.
As much of a pain in the dick it is with uniform prep, practice, inspections, and all the standing around…it’s really neat to see one of those come together. Reminded me of the extravaganza that they put on in 1995 for the 50th anniversary. Delegations came from all over Europe. Noticably absent were Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia. When asked why they didn’t send anyone, they said “Because to us the war didn’t end until 1991, when the Soviets left our countries.”

  I was Color Guard myself and Drill and Ceremony detail. It really is a lot of work to make something like this happen. Which is why I posted it. I would grade their performance a 9/10. The translator/CC stopped after Putin’s speech. And the constant camera changes from various wireless cameras was cool, like the ones mounted under the tanks, but I think it was poorly scripted in some aspects.
  Their soldiers looked fit and healthy. And they looked like they were having fun. I saw a lot of smiles and laughs in formation.

I wish that we could have done the US Military parade in DC like Trump wanted. But nooooo, that was “too nationalistic” for the pansies. It’s a shame, that would have been damn motivating.

  This is exactly what I was going to preempt this piece with but decided to post without comment.
  Sure would have been nice to get all our best our there. They were gonna repaint the tanks and helicopters.
  Must be nice to have a squared away military that isn’t embarrassing in many respects.
