LRRP Pappy used to have those SOF magazines around and what a joy to read as a youngster.
There were also uncensored WAR history magazines with the real unvarnished stories and salty language.
You could feel the love for the soldiers in both.

My monthly trip to the magazine stand always featured SOF in my purchases. I studied all the conflict flare ups and updates, especially leading up to deployments as I wanted to know the history of what was going on around my deployed location. Always good info on weapons, tactics, freedom movements and subversives as well.
