Alex is the epitome of a double agent. The news he reports on is usually pretty accurate. It is, that can’t be denied. However his solutions of just let yourself get murdered are absurd. In addition, he along with Sean Hannity is still defending the FBI and its agents as “good men and women who are working real cases” while making absurd claims that there are “10,000 FBI whistleblowers” when there are like 7 or 8. He is very much an Emmanuel Goldstein type character.
He supposedly was told if he came out against the 2A he’d be left alone. Well, if you pay attention, he more or less is against it anymore. Has anyone who still listens to him for his entire show ever heard him mention about you getting in shape, training with your weapons, and making friends? Nope. From his perspective, the only time you’re “allowed” to use your weapon is if they are at your door and are going to shove a needle in your arm, or take you to a camp. At that point, it’s too fucking late. Sitting around and waiting for the knock on the door isn’t an effective use of the 2A. It just isn’t. That’s why he gaslights the consumer of his show and tries to get them to sit down and do nothing.
Now, onto his point about them murdering Trump. Trump is more valuable to us as a martyr. By far more than being in office. His continued decisions, such as pushing McCarthy as speaker, and still defending the clot shot, have shown he is too stupid to ever be put into a position of authority ever again. However, President Trump is still a symbol. A powerful symbol. Those two points will perpetually be in parallel btw.
He’s damaged goods as a leader, but as you say he is important as a symbol. IMHO, killing him off or giving him a hefty prison sentence, particularly in the midst of all of the Hunter Biden fiasco, would be an incredibly stupid decision, as it would inflame a huge portion of people against TPTB to a degree that they haven’t yet seen.
Wwes, you’re correct, it would be an incredibly stupid decision. This whole thing reeks of hubris, which is a by product of them having never been truly hit in the jaw. You know, they’re probably stupid enough to see it through. Arrogance does that to people, it really makes people stupid. Almost childlike.
