MORNING CONFLICT ASSESSMENT 7 MAY 2025:
The war has broadened, as expected, over Kashmir. Strategic goal for Pakistan is to gain a greater level of control over Kashmir and Jammu, mitigating India’s capabilities to water restrictions. India’s primary goal is to gain complete control of Kashmir.
WE HAVE SEEN THE DEBUT OF BEIDU GUIDED WEAPONS SYSTEMS. overnight six Indian war planes are being claimed to have been shot down with 5 being confirmed by the Indian government. The Beidu guidance system is the Chinese counterpart to GPS with Pakistan being the first client state to field the weapons outside China. Their effectiveness should be noted in a potential upcoming conflict between China and Taiwan.
PROJECTION: The conflict will broaden over the entire region of Kashmir going into the remainder of the week with Pakistan staging for a ground offensive near the Line of Actual Control (LOC). While it is unlikely to turn nuclear, should a counteroffensive on part of India threaten Lahore (which houses Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal) it cannot be discounted.
