Some Thoughts on the Kyber Optics MDO w/ Green Dot, by NC Sheepdog

I was feeling a little down in the dumps at the beginning of April, so to pick up my spirits I decided that it was time to start my build on the truck gun that I had been wanting to build for about a year.

I ordered my PSA 7.5 build kit chambered in 5.56 (don’t want to do a .300 black out because of my ammo standardization) and picked up my Aero Engineering lower from the gun shop. The PSA parts kit showed up on 2 April and the Kyber Optics MDO arrived the next day.

Assembled all of the parts and placed the MDO on the weapon. The optics were factory zeroed at 33 yds. just perfect for this build. It is a 7.5 and I don’t intend to use it past that. I set it up to the front sight and made a few test fires with the weapon. The shots from 15 yds were all within a palms distance apart. The point of aim/point of impact are about 2” apart. I opted to configure the single green dot as opposed to the other variants of the reticle. I used the lowest power on the dot as to not obscure the target.

I was using M193 55gr 5.56 Winchester ammo for this along with Lancer 20 round magazines. I’m using the 20 round mags to cut down on the profile as this is a small weapon and I want to keep it that way for transportation and maneuverability.

My impression on this optic is that it is a very sturdy, well designed optic with a quick optical pick up. If I needed to, it would be very simple to sight in for another weapon. All of the mounting hardware is included. It can be configured for a high or low mount. I used it in the rain and also in good weather along with some low light shooting. The zero held exactly every time. For my purposes there was no need to zero the optics any further. It is spot on.

For the price, the speed of shipping and the ease of use I think that Brushbeater hit this one out of the park!
