FBI Nabs Gaza Terrorist in Louisiana Who Participated in October 7 Massacre

The FBI has arrested a Gaza terrorist in Louisiana who participated in the October 7 massacre in Israel.

According to the criminal complaint, Mahmoud Amin Ya’qub Al-Muhtadi lied on his visa and the Biden administration allowed him to enter the U.S. illegally on September 12, 2024, via the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.

Prosecutors say he was a member of a Gaza-based paramilitary group called Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP).

The DFLP is a secular Marxist–Leninist and Maoist organization that was founded in 1969 and is infamous for the 1974 Ma’alot massacre, in which 25 schoolchildren and teachers in Israel were killed.

The DFLP’s armed wing, the National Resistance Brigades (NRB), is reportedly one of several terrorist groups  that worked in concert with Hamas during the October 7 attacks.

Using cell phone data, investigators were able to determine that Al-Muhtadi joined forces with Hamas during the ruthless attack on Israeli civilians in Kibbutz Kfar Aza, where around 60 people were killed and 19 kidnapped, including American citizens, according to the complaint.

The DFLP’s military spokesman Abu Khaled later confirmed the group’s participation in the October 7 attacks, claiming he lost three fighters in combat against IDF forces in Kfar Aza, Be’eri, and Kissufim on that day.

Pictures posted by a DFLP official show armed militants reportedly inside Israeli territory on October 7.

The FBI’s review of Al-Muhtadi’s own social media produced additional evidence, including several photos of him and another subject conducting weapons training in Gaza.

Al-Muhtadi was living in Lafayette, Louisiana, where, as of September 2025, he had been working at a restaurant.

Sen. Bill (R-La.) Cassidy praised the FBI following news of the arrest, saying “anyone involved in the October 7 attacks committed a crime against humanity and deserves to be behind bars.”

Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murill also weighed in, saying: “The massacre of innocent Israeli men, women, and children on October 7 was evil personified. If what is alleged is true, this person needs to be prosecuted to the absolute fullest extent of the law. If the death penalty is available, the federal government should seek it. If state charges can be lodged, we will seek them. I continue to pray for the victims of Hamas’ evil actions that day and afterward.”
