Trump Mulls Insurrection Act After Leftwing Militants Loot and Destroy DHS Vehicles in Minneapolis

President Trump warned Minnesota’s Democrat leaders Thursday that he will institute the Insurrection Act if they don’t get their state under control after mobs of violent militants looted and destroyed multiple federal law enforcement vehicles at a crime scene in Minneapolis.

Wednesday evening, an ICE agent shot a criminal illegal alien from Venezuela in the leg during a violent altercation that left both in the hospital.

A mob of violent agitators quickly descended on the scene, outnumbering federal officers and forcing them to retreat. Independent journalist Nick Sortor was on the scene as the insurrectionists broke into abandoned ICE and FBI vehicles and pulled out sensitive government documents,  gear and weapons.

“Agents gear, laptops, and personal information now LITTERS the street,” Sortor posted on X at 11:11 p.m. “THIS IS ABSOLUTE ANARCHY! INSURRECTION ACT NOW!”

Pro-Antifa YouTuber Andrew Mercado livestreamed as fellow agitators exposed stolen FBI and ICE documents from the destroyed federal vehicles, including names of agents, phone numbers, arrest warrants, and operational plans.

“Mercado should already be under federal indictment for violent threats made a few days ago,” commented Will Chamberlain, Senior Counsel at the Article3Project, on X Thursday morning.  Chamberlain urged the Criminal Division of the Department of Justice to act quickly before the situation escalates further.
“Time is of the essence – you need to get these dangerous antifa radicals in handcuffs before a federal officer is murdered,” he wrote.

At 12:54 a.m., Sortor reported that the rioters had managed to break open a weapons locker in one of the federal vehicles and stole a rifle and ammunition before fleeing.

He said he was able to capture the thief’s face and license plate on the getaway vehicle, and shared the information with the FBI.

The anti-ICE militants broke into a second weapons locker nearly an hour later, with Minneapolis police still refusing to respond to the criminal frenzy.

“Anti-ICE rioters tied a TOW ROPE to a weapons locker in a federal vehicle and RIPPED IT OUT with a pickup truck,” Sortor reported at 1:42 a.m. “THIS IS UNSUSTAINABLE.
DHS agents are SITTING DUCKS. WE NEED MARINES HERE NOW! Locals are BEGGING for relief, 47!”

Minneapolis-based Alpha News reporter Liz Collin posted on X images of the wrecked and looted DHS/FBI vehicles:

Mike Davis, Article3Project founder and staunch Trump ally, posted on X as the chaos was unfolding in Minneapolis Wednesday night, that that it was almost time to invoke the Insurrection Act.

“Make no mistake: @GovTimWalz wants ICE agents murdered,” Davis wrote. “We are getting very close to the need to invoke the Insurrection Act. Then federalizing the Minnesota National Guard.”

“Insurrection. Seditious conspiracy. Assault. Obstruction. Conspiracy. Along with many other very serious federal felonies,” Davis wrote in a subsequent post responding to Mercado’s coverage of the looting.

At 7:04 a.m. Eastern, President Trump released a statement on Truth Social putting the Democrats running Minnesota on notice.

“If the corrupt politicians of Minnesota don’t obey the law and stop the professional agitators and insurrectionists from attacking the Patriots of I.C.E., who are only trying to do their job, I will institute the INSURRECTION ACT, which many Presidents have done before me, and quickly put an end to the travesty that is taking place in that once great State,” Trump stated.

The Department of Homeland Security released the following statement regarding the ICE involved shooting, Wednesday night.

At 6:50 PM CT, federal law enforcement officers were conducting a targeted traffic stop in Minneapolis of an illegal alien from Venezuela who was released into the country by Joe Biden in 2022.

In an attempt to evade arrest, the subject fled the scene in his vehicle and crashed into a parked car. The subject then fled on foot.

The law enforcement officer caught up to the subject on foot and attempted to apprehend him when the subject began to resist and violently assault the officer. While the subject and law enforcement were in a struggle on the ground, two subjects came out of a nearby apartment and also attacked the law enforcement officer with a snow shovel and broom handle.

As the officer was being ambushed and attacked by the two individuals, the original subject got loose and began striking the officer with a shovel or broom stick.

Fearing for his life and safety as he was being ambushed by three individuals, the officer fired a defensive shot to defend his life. The initial subject was hit in the leg.

All three subjects ran back into the apartment and barricaded themselves inside.

The attacked officer and subject are both in the hospital. Both attackers are in custody.

This attack on another brave member of law enforcement took place while Minnesota’s top leaders, Governor Walz and Mayor Frey, are actively encouraging an organized resistance to ICE and federal law enforcement officers.

Their hateful rhetoric and resistance against men and women who are simply trying to do their jobs must end. Federal law enforcement officers are facing a 1,300% increase in assaults against them as they put their lives on the line to arrest criminals and lawbreakers.

DHS has released the names and backgrounds of the illegal aliens who allegedly attacked the ICE agent last night. All three are Venezuelan illegals who were caught and released at the border by the Biden regime.

Julio Cesar Sosa-Celis, a criminal illegal alien from Venezuela, the subject of the targeted enforcement operation, was released into the country by President Joe Biden in 2022.

Sosa-Celis was previously convicted for driving without a license and arrested for two counts of giving a false name to a peace officer He was released by Minnesota authorities before ICE could even lodge a detainer. He illegally entered the United States in August 2022.

Alfredo Alejandro Ajorna, an illegal alien from Venezuela, illegally entered the United States in May 2023. After he failed to show up for his immigration hearing, he was issued a final order of removal by an Immigration Judge.

Gabriel Alejandro Hernandez-Ledezma, a criminal illegal alien from Venezuela, illegally entered the United States in May 2023. The Biden administration marked Hernandez-Ledezma as a non-enforcement priority.

The FBI is offering an reward of up to $100,000 for tips on the vandalism and theft of government property in Minneapolis, Wednesday night.

“If you harm law enforcement or destroy / steal federal property this FBI will not hesitate to pursue you, find you, and bring you to the fullest extent of justice,” Patel stated on X, Thursday afternoon.

Sortor announced on Fox News Thursday night that the ATF and DOJ executed an arrest warrant for the criminal caught on video stealing an FBI rifle out of a federal agent’s car during the Minneapolis riots Wednesday night.

Raul Gutierrez, 33, is a member of the Latin Kings gang and has a lengthy rap sheet, Sortor said.

The Latin Kings gang is involved in drug trafficking, assault, burglary, homicide, identity theft, and money laundering, with a primary income source from narcotics distribution. Latin Kings member Juan Espinoza Martinez,37, was arrested in Burr Ridge, Illinois, on October 6, 2025, for allegedly placing a $10,000 bounty on U.S. Border Patrol Chief Gregory Bovino.

The journalist told Host Laura Ingraham that there’s a lot of FBI activity going on on the ground in Minneapolis that he wasn’t a liberty to talk about, but “more is coming.”
