FBI Director Kash Patel Says Antifa Funders Have Been Identified and Will Soon Be Revealed

FBI Director Kash Patel revealed Wednesday that federal investigators have identified the funders behind the domestic terrorist group, Antifa, and that the Bureau will be disclosing their identities within the next couple of months.

“Wait ’til you see what’s coming in the next month or two on the funding streams related to this,” Patel told former colleague Dan Bongino during his radio show.

“These organizations don’t operate alone, don’t operate in silence, they operate with the heavy, heavy stream of funding and we started looking into it, and guess what, Dan? We Found them,” Patel declared.

In September 2025, Trump signed an executive order designating “Antifa” as a domestic terrorist organization, describing it as a “militarist, anarchist enterprise” involved in violence, recruitment, and efforts to conceal operations and funding.

The order directed federal agencies (including the FBI, Department of Justice, Department of Homeland Security, Treasury Department, and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to investigate, disrupt, and prosecute related activities, explicitly including actions against those who fund such operations or provide “material support.

A short time later, Patel stated during an interview that the FBI was “following the money” to map out Antifa networks, with open investigations into multiple groups and individuals allegedly funding domestic terrorism efforts linked to Antifa.

During a congressional hearing in December, Michael Glasheen, operations director of the FBI’s National Security Branch, stated that antifa was the agency’s “primary concern” and “the most immediate violent threat that we’re facing.”

Glasheen said there were dozens of active investigations into the group and a rising number of arrests.

No comprehensive FBI report detailing Antifa’s funding sources has been publicly released as of early 2026.

Allegations of major funding often point to left-wing NGOs, foundations, and figures like George Soros, but these allegations remain largely unsubstantiated by the FBI or by any other official reports.

Kyle Shideler, director and senior analyst for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism at the Center for Security Policy, testified to Congress last October that “the International Antifa Defense Fund has distributed over a quarter of a million dollars to more than 800 antifa members across 26 countries.”

The International Antifa Defense Fund, he said, is supported by the U.S.-based Torch Antifa Network, U.K Anti-Fascist Network, and the Swedish Prisoner Group Association.

But who funds these Antifa networks?

Peter Schweizer, the president of the Government Accountability Institute (GAI), alleges that over $100 million in funding has poured into antifa organizations through a network GAI calls “Riot Inc.”

Schweizer and his team say they traced the money through public nonprofit records, revealing connections to large left-wing funding networks.

Major funding sources identified by Schweizer and his colleague Seamus Bruner include George Soros’ Open Society Foundations, the Arabella Funding Network, and the Tides Funding Network. They also allege that foreign donors, such as Hansjörg Wyss of Switzerland, are contributing to these networks.

Bruner shared this information with the administration during the White House Antifa Roundtable on October 8.
