The situation just got significantly worse while most of you were sleeping.
– Israel has now launched its 10TH wave of airstrikes on Tehran. Wednesday morning.
– Israel’s defense minister says ANY new leader appointed by the regime will be “an unequivocal target for elimination.”
– The Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, the LARGEST U.S. military base in the entire Middle East, was struck by an Iranian ballistic missile overnight.
– CIA sites in Iraq and Saudi Arabia were hit by drones in the last 48 hours. No American casualties at the Saudi site. The Iraqi site was empty at the time.
– Iran’s death toll has now crossed 1,000 according to the U.S.-based Human Rights Activists News Agency.
– CENTCOM says the U.S. has now struck nearly 2,000 targets with over 2,000 munitions in the first 100 hours. 50,000+ troops, 200 fighter pilots, and two aircraft carriers deployed.
– 17 Iranian warships have been destroyed.
– Iran has fired over 500 ballistic missiles and 2,000+ drones since Saturday. But its military chain of command is reportedly FRACTURING. Some commanders are refusing to report to their bases out of fear of being targeted.
– Kuwait says it has detected 178 ballistic missiles and 384 drones since the war started. 27 Kuwaiti soldiers injured. Kuwait has NOT participated in the war.
– Rubio says attacks on Iran “in the next few hours and days” will INCREASE in scope and intensity.
– Former Iranian President Ahmadinejad survived an assassination attempt. He’s alive and has been moved to a safe location.
– DHS issued a memo warning of potential cyberattacks and lone wolf attacks on U.S. soil in response to the strikes.
– Air raid sirens sounded across Jordan on Wednesday morning.
– Israeli airstrike hit a hotel near Beirut. The Lebanese army is evacuating positions along the border with Israel.
– A ship was struck by a projectile off the coast of Fujairah. Damaged the vessel’s steel plating. A fire also broke out at Fujairah’s oil industry zone after a drone was intercepted.
– An LNG tanker bound for Europe was diverted to Asia, the first ship to reverse course during the crisis. Energy supply chains are breaking in real time.
– A drone was shot down near Baghdad International Airport on Wednesday. Second day in a row.
– U.S. Embassy in Beirut is now also closed. Jordan’s embassy is sheltering in place. State Dept ordered non-emergency staff to leave U.S. consulates in Lahore and Karachi, Pakistan.
– Canadian PM Carney says the strikes may be “inconsistent with international law.”
– Khamenei’s three-day funeral ceremony starts Wednesday night in Tehran.
Now the markets:
– South Korea’s Kospi just crashed ANOTHER 12.1% today. That’s after 7.2% yesterday. Worst single-day decline in the index’s HISTORY. Circuit breaker triggered. Two-day rout is the worst since 2008.
– Kosdaq crashed 14%. Circuit breaker triggered there too. Samsung down another 12%. SK Hynix down 10%.
– Japan’s Nikkei down 3.6%. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng down 3.1%. Taiwan down 3.9%. Full-blown Asian market meltdown.
– Dubai stock exchange reopened after a 2-day closure. Immediately crashed 4.9%. Worst day since May 2022. Abu Dhabi down 3%+.
– Brent crude now above $83. Up 36% year to date. WTI at $76.
– Nomura says the conflict “solidifies the case for central banks to hold rates steady.” Rate cuts are off the table.
– Lockheed Martin and RTX executives are meeting the White House on FRIDAY to discuss accelerating weapons production.
