Trump administration reportedly sending U.S. officers to an Ebola quarantine facility in Kenya

The Trump administration is reportedly sending U.S. public-health officers to Kenya, where they will staff an Ebola quarantine facility primarily intended for Americans.

The facility will serve those Americans who are exposed to or at high risk of testing positive for the disease, according to the Wall Street Journal. Americans who test positive will also be treated at the facility.

There are currently no reported cases in Kenya, but health officials in Africa say that an outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo is spreading faster than it can be contained.

Some members of the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps have received notices to deploy to Kenya, the Journal reported, citing unnamed sources.
