BRUSHBEATER STORE REVIEW – YEP, WE DO WHAT WE CLAIM

This is a long one… The TLDR: shop at the @Brushbeater
store if you are looking for great gear at a good price. I don’t typically do this, but I felt it was warranted.

I could not possibly be more thrilled with my recent purchase at the Brushbeater store. A great discount (10%) for signing up for the email distro started the experience off. I got the 1600 FOM (white) DTNV-31, high cut ballistic helmet, and Scout chest rig initially. After checking out, I also found a helmet cover and flag I wanted. Both shipments were in the hands of USPS before 11am the next morning. When the items arrived, I was a little nervous because the outer container had gotten the usual USPS treatment, so I began taking pictures immediately. I was worried over nothing though; I doubt Mike Vining himself could have damaged the inner packing. Suspended in bubble-wrap, there was a pelican-like Khyber Optics branded hard case with tight fitting dense foam inserts, and inside that, a padded cordura soft bag with Molle/PALS attachments containing the electronics/optics. The tubes look great and came with a QC grading sheet. The diopters and focus are phenomenal. The front illuminator is fairly discrete, and the battery pack has a strobe switch that lights up a chunk of terrain like daylight if you need it. The helmet is more comfortable than my motorcycle helmet, and securely rigged. (I have been wearing it all afternoon waiting on it to get dark out. My neighbors probably think I am a psycho.) The chest rig is simple, but well thought out and solidly built. The helmet cover is an oustanding fit for the helmet, and has great routing, mounting and retention for cords and gear. From the kit to the shopping experience itself, I can’t recommend Brushbeater/Khyber Optics any more highly. They put together an affordable, high quality kit that I was able to simply adjust for fit and use. I will be shopping there again.

Side note: I never realized how much IR/NIR there is in the modern world. Everything has a blinky light on it somewhere.
