More than 436,000 households in Florida were without electricity Saturday after Hurricane Isaias hammered the state’s Panhandle with strong winds and flooding.

The storm made landfall near Destin on Friday night as a Category 2 hurricane, with maximum sustained winds of about 105 mph, before weakening as it moved inland.

Escambia, Santa Rosa, Walton and Okaloosa counties were among the most impacted areas, outage-tracking data showed.

More than 900,000 utility customers in Florida, Alabama and Georgia had lost power by Saturday morning.
