I agree wholeheartedly about females in combat roles having witnessed the integration of young women into non frontline security units in the past. The biggest problem there wasn’t the lack of upper body strength, although you’re completely correct, it was the effect that young women have on men in general. I saw hard ass Staff NCO’s who you avoided at all costs tamed by a cute smile from a 19 year old E3. I saw many of them manipulate their birth control pills to prematurely induce their period so they didn’t have to stand post. Those of us who were already married understood that women shouldn’t mensturate every week, but did that matter? And the miles of dereliction of duty charges that could have been written had the higher ups known about what was going on behind the locked doors of their ultra secure facilities. Of course had that been brought to light, I’m sure the accused female would have nobly accepted her punishment without making counter accusations against her co-conspirator (yeah right!) Even women behind a hijab start to look pretty attractive to young men spending many months in foreign lands far away from home, I can’t imagine how many distractions and problems would have arisen if women were integrated in my infantry unit when I was in Iraq. I can see it now: Young competing alpha males fragging their onetime buddies for a chance with a “desert rose”. That was the name we reserved for female pog’s who typically would be considered rather plain looking in the US, but drop her in an area outnumbered 20:1 by men and she’s a “10” by default. If we didn’t need them at Belleau Woods, Iwo, Chosin, Hue or Fallujah, I think we’ll be OK without them in the future. But of course the commies know all this, why do you think they used females in the KGB after all? It wasn’t because they could do pull-ups ?
