What AP Is Reading This Month

If you are not reading, and no I don’t mean just American Partisan, you are making a serious mistake. Below is a selection of what the minds behind this site are reading this month. While we aren’t saying that reading the same books as Matt Bracken will give you the best mustache this side of Tom Selleck, we aren’t saying it won’t either.

Jesse James: The Oath

The Oath is a book written by Dr. Khassan Baiev about his experiences during the Chechen War. It’s a unique perspective and a real wake-up call as to the level of suffering and atrocities a modern civil war causes. You think this is going to be bad, read this and realize the level of human suffering is going to be worse than most of us could possibly comprehend.

Brushbeater: Warrior: Frank Sturgis

Frank did Watergate. Frank scared Fidel Castro, by Fidel’s own admission. Frank trained guerilla armies, and Frank was the guy behind the plots to overthrow Cuba, Haiti, Panama, Guatemala and the Dominican Republic. Frank is a “VERY interesting guy.”

Matt Bracken: Cold Times: How to Prepare for the Mini Ice Age

Anita Bailey, PhD is a strong proponent of the “Maunder Minimum” no sunspots angle, and thinks the northern tier of the USA will have the weather currently enjoyed 700 miles north. Basically, weather patterns will become so cold that growing crops will be severely disrupted etc. It’s good reading, it’s not just about weather and climate, but a comprehensive prepper book based on cold times ahead for decades and decades. Our current population exploded during a warm period, leveraged with technology to grow enough food for the new masses and so on. With a shift to cold climates, food will not keep up, and there will be massive refugee flows, social breakdown, and wars over resources.

Patriotman: The Gulag Archipelago

Aleksandr Solhzenitsyn’s masterpiece goes into really deep detail about the horrors of the gulag system. If you did not already hate communists, this book will do the trick.

JohnyMac: One Shot, One Kill

Written by Charles Sasser and Craig Roberts the book has vignettes from the men who stalked and killed in WWII, Korea, Vietnam and Beruit. The book offers some great insight into the mind and methods of people who sat behind a scope and killed. A military classic.

I have a friend who is a serious amateur astronomer and does a lot of solar imaging, where he uses special filters to image sunspots. The other day he told me blacked away his solar scope as there are virtually no sunspots. This is the condition that ushers in a mini ice age.

Our last two winters in the Rocky Mtns have been unusually long and cold. So Cold Times which I too am reading is prescient.

It was Chilly in Wyoming this summer. Not just at night either. That’s normal in the high desert.

Recent reads include but are not limited to:

“Popski’s Private Army”- Vladimir Peniakoff aka ‘Popski’ — WW2 behind the German and Italian lines

“Fighting Mad” – Mad Mike Calvert — WW2 Burma and afterwards in Malaya

“Born Fighting” – James Webb. Regarding the Scots-Irish culture as it has taken root in America

All of the above are outstanding books, worth your time.

Currently in process- “Phoenix and the Birds of Prey” Counter insurgency in the Vietnam War. Just begun, but the description of the VC tactics in forming their shadow government is very interesting with lessons for American patriots.

If Dr. Valentina Zharkova’s new model of the Sun is correct, and I think it is, then we are headed for a Grand Solar minimum over the next few solar cycles, but over the next few thousand years, average temperatures should increase slightly. We should know who is right within 5 years, once the peak of solar cycle 25 has come and gone.

Also re-reading Brian Litz’ work on long range ballistics, and researching subsonic loads for various calibers, from .22LR on up.

Those interested in sniping should read “A rifleman went to War” and “Fry the Brain” among a number of others.

With regard to all who seek the Light,

      Historian,
I assess that Zharkovas forecast is right on azimuth. Brackens book recommendation is a good one.

Zharkovas theory explains a lot, including the relatively large magnetic pole shifts we are seeing and need to adjust GPS Nav instruments near the poles. The solar weather, especially magnetic storms affect our earth a great deal. Many theorize that changes in solar geomagnetic output is correlated with extreme shifts in earthquake and volcanic activity. We’ve been in declining solar activity for many cycles now and it isn’t looking good for 26. Solar weather affects a lot more than HF propagation and MUF.

We pay attention to solar weather because we like amateur radio. We pay attention to terrestrial weather because we operate a small farm and orchard. The two are inextricably linked. The last couple of years have been bad weather and bad pestilence because of cooler and wetter climate. It’s sure isn’t global warming or man made climate change. We’re convinced it’s the long arc of the small changes in the earth orbit cycle (that 22000 year wobble cycle) coupled with reduced sunspots and shifts in geomagnetic storm activity. Not much men can do about any of it except adapt how we live. Explaining solar cycle impact to kith and kin, along with how to adapt is a good idea.

I don’t think the politicians are leading in the right direction with all the crazy climate change GAIA worship. Maybe they’re just not that smart. Maybe they’re just nefarious. Either way, space weather is at least as important to responsible Americans as is the ongoing communist insurrection.

There are a couple of decent websites covering space weather forecasts if you’re interested.

    ————————- BE ADVISED———- OFFICIAL NOTICE————————

If you are curious about what goes on at law firms such as the one that helped frame General Flynn.

You can read about my old employer, the same law firm that set up General Flynn, in the book “Shell Game: Whistleblower Report” by 2nd LT. Scott Bennet.

Scott served two years in prison after he discovered massive coverups of terrorist financing.

FULL DISCLOSURE! Edward Snowden is a lying communist shit bag and traitor. He isn’t a hero. His story is BS. Shell Game exposes that. And so much more.

Edward Snowden went to Russia because he saw what happened to his coworker. Got Spooked(Get it?) and ran before they did it too him.

Snowden thought he was in the company of true Comrades at Booze Allen Hamilton.

And Bennet thought he was in the company of Patriots at Booze Allen Hamilton.

General Flynn, His Son, And I thought we were in the company of Patriots at Covington & Burling.

I have spoken to Scott Bennett personally. Same with Mr. Flynn and his son.

This was a part of my life for two years. And was nearly as incredible as the framing of Trump. Maybe even equal too…

Time will tell. Regardless. I was standing there the whole time. You can see what happened to Flynn. But what was Covington doing before Flynn walked in the front door? I know. I had keys to every office in the building. Unlimited Access and Security Admin Credentials on the Net.

    Guess what they were doing…

You are gonna love watching the Lamestream Misleadia at the end of the month. Phase Two is coming to a theater near you.

Phase 1 was the last three years. “You are gonna love Phase 2… I promise” -Some Green Beret I bumped into once.

The Troubles, by Tim Pat Coogan.

Excellent history of the violence and political aspects of the Northern Six Counties in Ireland 1960-1990s.

The careful reader will see many parallels with the current situation in the US. Coogan clearly highlights the political and military successes and blunders on both sides of the conflict. The book is sympathetic but not uncritical to the IRA; less sympathetic to the Ulster militias and paramilitaries. Harsh toward the British Paras and Royal Ulster Constabulary.

One significant difference between Northern Ireland and contemporary US: organization. The socialist IRA was and is organized around the idea of a rising in every generation. The IRA suffered from many splits and splinter groups over the years (Real IRA, Provisional IRA, Original IRA, etc). It was also infiltrated many times until serious OPSEC penalties were put in place. The Irish Identity was the main cohesive force; Irish vs English colonists.

The Loyalist Ulstermen were also well organized under the Orange Order Lodges. The Orange Orders comprised the original English colonists who arrived under King William and controlled Ireland for centuries. These clubs became the core of Loyalist militia after the Anglo Irish war in 1920s. The Ulstermen were organized and had a shared culture and a goal: loyal part of the U.K.

In the Contemporary US, the socialist revolutionaries are organized and have a general goal. They’re splintered like the IRA and equally dangerous. After all, the IRA achieved many of their goals through Sinn Fein political action backed by violence in the 1980s and 1990s.

The contemporary US loyalists are not coherently organized around a motivating principle. There’s no powerful US vs THEM to bind the anti-communists together.

Ultimately in the six counties, Westminster betrayed Belfast and conceded many points to the IRA. The US socialist revolutionaries are using the same strategy as the IRA and the political tactics of Saul Alynsky Rules for Radicals.

The Troubles isn’t an easy read nor is it as entertaining as Bracken’s Trilogy. It’s worth the effort to understand the current US situation and the goal of our own communist authoritarian revolutionaries.

Coogans book on Michael Collins and the IRA are both good reads, though I agree that Coogans writing style is tiring.

Within minutes of starting the Gulag Archipelago I began to cry. What a horrifying story.

  9. Dan August 8, 2020 at 18:24

Plus up for Gulag Archipelago. I was a brat living at EUCOM when Solzhenitsyn was exiled from the Soviet Union. Wondered what the hell was going on and read everything he wrote. It is a 3 volume work that can grind you into dust. Start with volume 3 and it will motivate you to read the first 2 volumes. One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich feels like serving a 20 years sentence – and then you are reminded that it describes a single day. Nothing I’ve read brings home the constant brutality of the boot stomping your face forever that is life under communism like that work.

“The Cossack Struggle Against Communism 1917-45” (2019) An insight into perhaps the greatest freedom fighters of all time & their last heroic & bloody stand before decossackization at the hands of the Soviets. Hint: They fought like hell & to the bitter end.
