    Great stories.
I had a fantastic get over experience as an e-2 or pfc while serving with the 82nd. We had a training exercise in Puerto Rico as well that included a jump under similar conditions, followed with field time. Being the new guy, I was slammed with going with the battalion advanced party with all the supplies to serve guard duty. Everyone thought it was fitting that the cherry should be screwed with such a duty. As it turned out, I did serve guard duty, but I also had a lot of quality time on the beach on Rosevelt Rhodes naval base. I also managed to get a tour of the inside of a nuke sub that was docked there at the time. Later, all the guys came back from the field with many stories of the night mass tactical jump with high winds, the big thorn bushes Popp mentioned, and a DZ on the side of a hill. No one was happy, especially after they learned of all my easy time on the beach.
    I got over!!! Big time.
