LNG Russian State Owned Mega-plants, Northern Maritime Routes, Rising LNG Prices, The Belt and Road, And a War in Ukraine…
Gee Golly Gosh…
I wonder why Ukraine is about to be taken off the map…
Why Fight a War?
Economics, Elections, Employment, Economics, Embargoes, and Energy…
And, Of course, Ego…

“In all, 15 unique LNG ice-breakers have been specially designed and built for the Yamal LNGproject, beginning with the Christophe de Margerie. The Northern Sea route To unlock access to the vast gas resources of Russia’s Far North, the Yamal LNG project has inaugurated a new LNGÂ shipping route.”

“Ukraine remains the main transit route for Russian natural gas sold to Europe, which earns Ukraine about $3 billion a year in transit fees, making it the country’s most lucrative export service.[4] Following Russia’s launch of the Nord Stream pipeline, which bypasses Ukraine, gas transit volumes have been steadily decreasing.[4] In 2004 more than 120 bcm of Russian gas was transported through Ukraine; this figure dropped to just 84 bcm in 2012.[4]
Russia–Ukraine gas disputes left many countries with a significant drop in their supplies when Russia cut off all natural gas supplies passing through Ukraine in 2009 and 2006.[21][27]”

“That’s because Russia is the No. 2 oil producer on the planet, behind only the United States. And Ukraine is a key energy transit hub, where a large amount of Russian natural gas exports to Europe flow through.” -CNN

Great post Mr Airborne. THANK YOU.
Thank You!
This should be a HUGE conversation in the next week.
I am hoping Zerohedge and Others are reading this…
This is HUGE.
This has to be the most amazing engineering project in history. Just fascinating. The naval architects/marine engineers are geniuses for being able to design such ships & tankers. Just completing the project under such severe weather conditions is an accomplishment within itself.
I agree.
This is incredible.
And, of course, this has implications for the next century.
DEME eh, sure sounds like something they would build…just like the LNG terminal in my home town…
