I can’t agree. While I understand that Ukraine is a corrupt entity at the moment, if THEY want to join NATO, why should the Russians be able to veto their bid— that doesn’t mean we automaticallyaccept, but it’s not for the Russians to decde….. They are a sovereign nation. Second, when the guy said that Ukraine provides no value to NATO strategically I decided he was an idiot. If it adds NO VALUE, WHY DO THE RUSSIANS GAF? Has the guy ever seen a map of Ukraine?

Basically the Cuban missile crises in reverse. if Ukraine joins, NATO will deploy high speed missiles near the border with Russia
these missiles can hit Moscow in five minutes or less. decapitating Russia before they can respond. So yeah NO. IMO that response is reasonable. A conventional war with Russia on their door step? logistics much. for that reason alone the idea is retarded. WW III ain’t going to go so well for anybody. Ukraine corrupt ! that’s the pot calling the kettle black.

In the late 1970’s, I sat in a tank, in West Germany, waiting to defend against the Red Army. We are fortunate they did not activate their “Seven Days To The Rhine” plan, it would have been bad for the world.

When they stood down in 1991, and the Berlin Wall came down, Russia was promised that NATO would NOT expand to their borders. After the Yugoslavia war, what happened? NATO started pushing towards Russia’s borders. Meanwhile, the people who control the .gov started flippantly provoking Russia, one little dig at a time.

As for Ukraine, on the one hand, Russia has done a lot of damage to Ukraine, for a couple hundred years now. And about 100 years ago, Soviets killed several million Ukrainians in the Holodomor. It is understandable that Ukraine wants Russia off their back. But is also understandable that NATO on Russia’s border is unacceptable to them; and why would they not do something to retaliate?

The people who really provoking this are not worried, they and their families will not have to fight the Russians, or anyone else. They will sit in their protected Ivory Towers, demanding other people go die for “democracy”. When in reality they could’nt care less about “democracy”, just owning the world.
