The Russian War Of Warfare: Center for Strategic And International Studies (2 Hour Video-2018)

After ten years of military modernization and defense reform, Russia’s military is now a reliable instrument of national power that can be used in a limited context to achieve vital national interests. Russian strategists, concerned about instability along the Russian periphery or an aerospace attack on the Russian heartland, are focused on preserving influence in buffer states and on reinforcing defensive bulwarks. Russian military strategy and operations show an increasing degree of coordination, deception, and simultaneity to achieve objectives quickly while minimizing vulnerabilities. What does the evolution of Russia’s armed forces, its strategy, and the way it uses force tell us about the future?

Please join us for a discussion with Scott Boston and Dara Massicot on how current Russian military capabilities have evolved to enable coordinated, multi-domain operations.

This event is made possible by the generous support of Carnegie Corporation of New York.

    Thanks for the intel.
I hate the thought of any war once it develops it’s own personality, like the “sneaker wave” you can suddenly be swept into a current you can’t survive without going WITH it.
That said , if Russia wants to hit what I might consider enemy, well I might think about turning my head away briefly. $N n @t $0 .
    Just some coffee shop banter.
    And I don’t know shit.

Good work JP. The Pentagon has known that Russia has no global ambitions for years. All this shit about expansionism is just hot air and a contrivance for public consumption. Russia is no threat to NATO, but I would believe their stated doctrine of using nuclear weapons in certain circumstances. The problem with the Ivy Leaguers in Foggy Bottom and Langley is that they can’t conceive of Russia using nukes because it would mean their destruction via MAD. Those paradigms have changed. They are wrong in their assessments and the price could be our lives!
It is weirdly similar to the leadup to WWI and WWII. We just saw the other day how easily mistakes are made with the India/Pakistan errant missile. The politicians and flag officers who want a kinetic war with Russia make it seem to me like either we are really being run by idiots, or all this is going according to plan. Finding out the Zelensky’s whole cabinet are entertainment lawyers, actors and comedians really just figures to be the shit icing on the biggest shitty cake, (with all the death and corruption baked right in), I have ever been witness too. I hope we don’t end up choking to death on it!
