I believe it is Netflix that has a documentary with a lot of detail on the mission to recover that soviet sub.
These days, the soviets would probably know more about it than the US Navy and other entities in the US.
we didn’t steal it, we salvaged it. It is a story that rates right up there with the moon landings and breaking the sound barrier as far as technical achievements go. Read “A Matter of Risk” by Roy Varner and Wayne Collier for the inside story. The Glomar Explorer was a modern marvel in its day and still is for that matter when you consider the era in which it was designed and built.
