        That’s my point. I keep guns in my gunsafe. I don’t care about EMP for my guns. If the electronic keypad on it fries, I get the backup key, open it up, and will be using the guns rather than storing them.

    I’ve read it. The electronic keypad is a convenience and non-critical part of the safe. Everything else in the gunsafe is already EMP immune. I’m no more worried about the keypad in EMP than I am for my doorbell.

    Genius. I suspect lightning fried my electronic lock. It’s TOTALLY fried. I can power it, but it’s a very confused electronic device.

    Very interesting ..I rigged up a metal box around my keypad years ago but got a lot of funny looks from friends and family LOL.. much better idea with the conductive cloth .never thought about the conductive tape liner seal ..will have to upgrade . thanks
