I have worked with and spoken to a lot of doctors during my 11 years as a nurse. Ebola used to be the big topic, but very few were worried about a giant outbreak in the US. Most reasoned that Ebola was so contagious and notably obvious in it’s signs and symptoms that it would be prone to burning itself out. Omicron may have done the same thing in a different way. It was so contagious but so mild. Once so many people got it, it was just sort of finished.

As for me, I have the antibodies, but I never had any symptoms. I suspect I got the exposure from my wife, who had Delta, and was extremely sick and required hospitalization.
