There is something else that you can do once TSHTF, and that is to SPOOF these signals (both the controller and the drone’s) with something (SDR) that can do baseband store and retransmit (replay), like the HackRF. Record your old flight’s baseband RF in odd areas and save them for later. When TSHTF (further), and it seems like they might be using something like an Aeroscope, start doing random playbacks with a remote antenna. They are using the GPS info passed back and forth in the signal, so they will attempt to target THOSE coordinates. At that point you are either causing them to hit an area that has no real target with their firepower, OR they may try to put people on the pinpoint to try to capture the nonexistent drone and operator. Your options vary greatly on your end at that moment. Either way they waste resources and show that they are “listening”. Do this often enough and they may stop listening. At minimum, they will distrust their equipment and that gives you an edge.

I use an inactivated iPhone without Wi-Fi turned on. Therefore there is no data connection back to the ChiComs
