Kremlin coup rumours growing in Moscow: Disgruntled generals join FSB looking to oust Putin and end Ukraine war
Rumours are swirling in Moscow that a number of former generals and KGB officials are preparing to oust Russia’s president Vladimir Putin and plan to end the war in Ukraine, which is increasingly seen across Russia as a strategic mistake and, above all, an economic disaster.
The top of Putin’s former employer – the Russian security service FSB – is said to be so frustrated about the lack of military progress in Ukraine that it has reached out to a number of generals and former army officials, according to various analysts and local media reports.
In particular a group called the ‘Siloviki’ – which comprises of former FSB officers who are active in Russian politics – is said to be pushing hard to replace Putin, together with former officers from the GRU, KGB and FSO, other Russian intelligence units.

Nope–I’m not believing any “coup” over Putin just yet. Better still, I recall a quote by LBJ concerning the “musical chairs” of a foreign supported governments at war:
“I’m getting tired of all this. No more of this coup shit!”
My thoughts: Putin thought he could quickly “shock ‘n awe” the Kiev regime by a 4-5 prong attack, which would bring Zelensky to the bargaining table at the double-quick. Didn’t work.
So, RUSS forces take their good old time ground pounding and, for all practical purposes, did NOT do the SOP Soviet shell n’ bomb the places to bits. Quite the contrary–power grids, water and sewer plants, even civvie commo remained untouched, big cities not reduced to rubble (a la Chechnya.)
BUT–that may have been Putin’s huge mistake: TIME and the clock running down. When you give time and opportunity to an enemy and its proxy suppliers, all manner of grief ensues. Plus, the MSM gives the deal bad optics for an attacker.
So, methinks “Phase #2” of the RUSS “limited strategic operation” will be more aggressive. The clock and time now are important. See the re-arranging of the Azovstahl steel plant in Mariupol, where UKR and mercs are holed up, mostly in the underground tunnels.
It’s rare for an attacking force to “change horses” in the middle of a stream or battle. Just sayin….I’ve been wrong before; let’s see what plays out.
