Regular Gas is now $4.80 in Maryland, Storable Food Jumps in Price, Sugar, and Spice

Good Afternoon Fellow Partisans,

Sorry for my Hiatus from writing as of late. I have been out of town for work without a steady internet connection. And, with the nice weather I have been enjoying myself.

I wanted to bring to your attention something that I recently informed my Patreon’s and Students of Green Dragon Academy of.

Overnight the cost of gas in MD jumped nearly $0.20. Which is unfortunate.

The cost of storable food has increased quite a bit. Especially for products that are fairly well regarded. (Linked Below)

And another product I have considered,

Both of these products were considerably cheaper many months ago (almost a year), and, to my my folly I must now pay nearly a full 40% increase in price.

Dear Partisans, please fill your freezers and pantries. You can save hundreds of dollars.

And don’t forget, to offset price increases in food cost, land used for cotton and tobacco will be converted to food production.

This is a basic population management science. Other countries do the same thing.

Please also consider purchasing clothing, socks, shoes, boots, linens, and other non-perishables as these will increase in price to offset the cost of food.

You can even purchase the clothing you might need for your kids before they outgrow them.

Recently I purchased about 20 different outfits to get ahead of the unofficial “textiles tax” that will be headed our way soon enough…

As well as several pairs of new shoes.

And don’t forget sugar and spices! Throughout history, the men who had a boatful of spices could purchase entire counties worth of land. In some cases, Arab princes and Italian city state nobles would lose their entire kingdoms to the captain who had a boatful of exotic asian spices, coffee, tea, and/or sugar.

Chose wisely my fellow freedom fighters.

Lose the kingdom tomorrow, or spoil yourself today.

Sugar’s a big one for sure. Remember before 2008, it was 5 pounds in a bag, then 4 pounds all of the sudden. (for the same price) They fit perfectly in a 1-gallon Mylar bag with oxygen absorbers.
    Flour the same.

This is so true. The Local Mill had 25lbs Wheat Buckets for $32-35 not long ago. Now they are $52…

Regular gas in my corner of NW Florida has been hitting $4.50 to $4.80 over the last couple of weeks. We don’t have major shortages here but routinely you see stations with half their pumps shut down now.

Melikes the 100% pure gas, no ethanol for my generators, log splitter, chainsaws, other gas tools–here in No. Ohio, but it’s going for $5.99/gal at Circle K stations or local marinas or smaller airports.

Reg 87 OCT gas with 10% alky here is $4.32 at COSTCO. Contrary to what moron “Joe Biden” says–DO NOT use the gas with 15% ethanol in boats or rec vehicles. Some reports of motors overheating and manufacturers denying warranty coverage by using the 15% alky stuff.

MEIJER’s superstores are opening gas stations here–get the MEIJER’s M/C plastic and it knocks off .10/gal.

K-1 kerosene is plentiful, but $5.26/gal. Diesel–sky high.

Grub? We’re seeing 15%-50% upticks in most foods–EXCEPT the beef here–dirt cheap: 80/20 ground beef at $1.99 lb. Bought a ton of it, vacuum seal it and freeze it for 6-12 months use.

Eggs at COSTCO are $1.77/dz, but you’ve got to buy 3 or 5 dozen a crack. These are washed eggs–must be used rather quickly.

BUT–if you have a local farmer with hens, get the farm-fresh, UNWASHED eggs (that still have the hen’s “bloom” on the eggs) and use Mrs. Wages “Pickling Lime” (found in the canning sections for like $3/bag) use 1 oz. dry weight to every quart of distilled (not tap water–too much chlorine) and you can store eggs in this milky solution for 12-18 MONTHS without refrigeration! I use sterilized 5 gal food grade bucket with Gamma seal lid. Keep an eye that the solution always covers the eggs–add more liquid as needed. The Founding Fathers did this, as well as the Amish and Mennonites these days.

PS Just had an F0 twister come through our Township (75 mph winds) on Wednesday that tore up a heck of a lot of huge maple, oak, and even sycamore trees. Power was out (except at our place with our “genny.’) Now–I’m out getting FREE FIREWOOD just for the taking.

Store bought washed eggs can be coated in mineral oil and stored unrefrigerated for a number of months
