Oh boy. Where to even start with this? Your medals don’t give you permission to be a turd. You swore an oath. Also, according to the rest of ST6 that was there, you didn’t kill UBL. Also, claiming you did is how you got kicked off the team. I don’t care what courses you went to or what things you’ve done. You aren’t special. You aren’t better than other men.

Does he not realize in 7-8 years time there will be voters who were not even alive or remember May 2. 2011? There’s already an entire generation that does not remember 9/11, March of ‘03, much less Jan. 16, 1991 or Amy wars before.
Now that we unceremonyously left Afghanistan last August, all of what people like him talk about will simply be dates in a history book in school for these kids. In other words, if he thinks he is relevant, he is not.
Have met 2 SEALs and 1 Marine Sniper. Not one of them told me what they used to be. In all three cases someone else told me later…Then there’s Tom. He was a rah, rah Marine with a sign in the front yard that looked like to ones at the gates a major camps. If you met him, you knew he was a Marine! He worked for a local judge as a bailiff and we sort of befriended each other. He fought in WW2 Korea, and Vietnam. I just tried to find the obituary, but am unable to produce it right now. However, what I never knew was his record of service. Tom had virtually every medal one could earn in Marine military service and he, like the others aforementioned, never mentioned it. In fact, I didn’t know until about a year ago. He’s been gone since about 2014.

I think this attitude is the worst of the .mil cult, and is not much different than would be the attitude of the house hold retainer of some feudal lord. Getting to wear the sword around as a mark of superiority over the otherwise common rabble that would normally befit your station has been a common phenomena throughout time. I see it frequently in both the .mil and .LEO, often with the derisive expression of ‘civilian’ or abhorrent concept of ‘sheep dog’.
As a productive member of society, fleeced my entire adult life, I find it insulting to no end to be spoken to in this manner by the beneficiaries of my labor.
It is true firearms are the great equalizer and that I think is what these jackboots are most afraid of.

I absolutely despise when LEOs use the term ‘civilians’, always derisively. YOU ARE A CIVILIAN TOO.
It might sound like a bad movie line but I always preferred the term ‘citizen’.
Imo the martial class should be comprised of the entirety of the productive class of males and one should be considered equally a producer and a defender in their society. Divorcing the martial class from the productive class inevitably leads to the exploitation of the productive by those who specialize in violence.

My brother was a Navy Seal . I even have his Beret he gave me . He seemed to be surprised when I first kicked his ass .
