Pentagon official warns that China is acquiring new weapons five times faster than US

A top Air Force official is warning that China is now getting its hands on new military equipment “five to six times” faster than the U.S., a report says.

Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition Maj. Gen. Cameron Holt made the remark during a speech in San Diego in June, according to The Drive.

“In purchasing power parity, they spend about one dollar to our 20 dollars to get to the same capability,” Holt was quoted as saying. “We are going to lose if we can’t figure out how to drop the cost and increase the speed in our defense supply chains.”

The Air Force says Holt is “responsible for all aspects of contracting relating to the acquisition of weapon systems, logistics, and operational support for the Air Force and provides contingency contracting support to the geographic combatant commanders.”

Holt said “I believe that part of our job as senior leaders is to be candid with the American public and to be candid with our industry partners about the challenges that we face.”

China’s military has become increasingly brazen in recent years, particularly with territorial claims in the disputed South China Sea.

ok–I’ve only had two stripes on my sleeve–I can’t compete with a 2 star rank; and, I was born at night–BUT–not last night. SO–let’s look at the CV of yonder MG spouting off here:

Maj. Gen. Cameron G. Holt is the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Contracting, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics, Washington, D.C. He is responsible for all aspects of contracting relating to the acquisition of weapon systems, logistics, and operational support for the Air Force and provides contingency contracting support to the geographic combatant commanders.

Oh–so this MG is one of the “gatekeepers” of handing out the deals for the MIC to “improve and update” our weaponry, eh? Am I wrong? Uhh..we all know who he is really working for–that post-retirement gig sitting on the Bd of Directors of the companies that he gives the nod to.

Oh–btw, MG: what you been doing hardening up the men and women of the USA AF? You know, stopping the required and spoon-feeding of absolute CRAP dished out at the AF Academy and through the ranks?

Oh–funny that all of a sudden, we taxpayers and being “primed” and should be concerned about CCP weaponry being better than ours? Where the hell you been, dude? You’re a MG–a general officer–been doing the butt-kissing for a long while on the way up. All I ever wore was two stripes and I smelt the coffee a long time ago with this repeated MIC scam. Pretty old….

Another rat feigning surprise at trends started in the ‘90s. Corporate scumbags temporarily disguised as ‘officers’. Paying Lockmart to ‘develop’ a flying contradiction like the F-35 is but one abomination. Lockheed performed an engineering miracle given the retarded requirements of the program.

To add insult to injury they claim the Russians and Chinese are ‘copying’ this rubbish. All they have to do is the opposite of the Pentagram and be on the right track.
